“On the contrary to some of the other reviews.. Where do I start? I have so many good points to make about this place. I used to go for lunch here with my baby daughter (materinity leave) in 2015 and back then I was so impressed by the freshness, the portions, the cleanliness and Jay (the owner, down to earth and warming service skills). It's always very quiet and clean so this automatically gives you a nice ambience. Fast forward to now, whilst most establishments have gone downhill after covid, Makiyaki went up several levels. They updated the decor (gorgeous), their crockery is very up market and their sauces that are drizzled over the sushi is fantastic. Jay the owner is extremely humble and polite and is a great chef and puts his all into everything his does. Alongside him, his wife also runs the restaurant. She is very efficient and conscientious about every detail. It's nice to see a restaurant go from strength to strength and their dishes are worth every penny. Recommendations are: scallop Volcano, scallop crunch, Gyoza (very fresh), England, Spider and kingston roll. I have lots of other favorites but the new addition is their pancake desert. Wow.. Thank you for always delivering an excellent experience and of course we shall be back.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to On Fries since it first opened, and it’s been amazing watching the business grow. Run by Nigel but has Cam and Kyle always delivering top service. Honestly, it’s the best steak and fries I’ve had cooked perfectly every time and topped off with their signature green sauce, which I now buy to use at home! Can’t wait to start pairing it with other meals because it works so well with steak. Highly recommend”

“Another visit, another quality curry - as a local curry house, this is welcoming, comfy, polite and serves top food every time. Starters of poppadoms(of course) with various chutneys/dips, then chicken celyon, CTM, onion bhajee (superb!), sag paneer, mushroom pilau & garlic naan. Never had a disappointing meal here and recommend it.”

“Visited twice this past week due to our first time being amazing with work colleagues group of 25 of us and the food was absolutely beautiful and all came out the same time and was hot and very delicious and presented excellently. The service and ambient is brilliant, welcomed by all the staff and made to feel special. The view of the race ground is brilliant, wasn’t a race event on but excellent location for the racers. “Delicious food with a huge variety at a reasonable price. We managed to secure a table for a Saturday evening. The restaurant is spacious and its acoustic features are commendable. It wasn't disturbingly noisy even though it was full. Every single dish was served within 20 minutes and the quality was superb. We will be sure to return here in the future.”
