Chinese dining experience in Manchester

“Been ordering for years, stopped for a bit due to finances and pandemic, started to order again. Anyway, had a problem with the food once years back but that was sorted out. Other problems years ago were the previous delivery drivers who would not get out of the car and bring the food to the door, that was sorted after I told them. Different drivers now, but I collect orders, food good, friendly place, will talk to you abit if they are not that busy making food.”

“Best Chinese takeaway round Swinton ways. Hot n Sour soup ain't the best but all the rest of the food is proper nice. They always throw in some prawn crackers n fortune cookies so can't really complain”

“I think the rating of this restaurant on Google is absurd, and reaffirms that people only ever leave bad reviews. Our experience with this Chinese is pretty consistently 9/10. Portion sizes - Brilliant. Food Freshness/Taste - Brilliant. Service - Brilliant. Overall value - Great. The Salt & Pepper chefs box, chow mein, chicken satay, special curry and chicken wing menu items never let us down . We have tried other Chinese restaurants in the area and always find ourselves quickly regretting not ordering from here at No. 1.”

“Couldn't get through to our normal pizza place this evening. My friend had mentioned Twelve previously so we decided to try it and were very impressed. As others have said, staff are friendly and the food fresh. It is also the best pizza I have had for years - certainly the best I have had in the UK. I very rarely give 5 stars but they are worth it.”

“Absolutely brilliant experience here on the French patesserie course. The day was really engaging and interesting - the recipes were great, the pace was just right and we were given so much useful information as well as little tips and tricks. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, the facilities were lovely and the course was expertly delivered. I would definitely recommend and I'm already looking at what courses I can do next!”

“Highly recommend!! Food, service and atmosphere excellent!!! I called up before to see if we could book and lucky they had an hour free to offer us a table for 2, I also mentioned I am celiac and it was no issue at all. When we arrived it was fairly busy but that didn’t affect the service or friendly atmosphere. The waiter remembered I mentioned celiac/gf. We ordered the summer rolls and chicken wings (none gluten free) and they offered to make the chicken wings gluten free which meant I could try them too! I could have eaten 10! They were so tasty!! I had the traditional pho for my main, the broth was full of flavour and lots of coriander which I love!! My partner ordered drunken chicken noodles which I wanted to try but it wasn’t GF, they said they could make it GF next time, which is great news! It’s more often places offer to make food gluten free so this was a pleasant surprise. They definitely accommodate GF needs. Everything tasted so good!! You wouldn’t think it was gluten free, I would definitely recommend to anyone, celiac or not! I’ll definitely be going back again.”

“Absolutely delicious food. Everything we ordered was spot on. Friendly staff who make you feel very comfortable and are very helpful. They do have outdoor seating which will be good for wheelchair and pram user's and the have toilets as well. You must try this vegetarian place. I will definitely be returning.”

“Visited yesterday. Knew the food would be good because I've been before but I just wanted to leave a review to say how amazing the service was. So polite, attentive and to be honest the best restaurant service I've had in a while! Also, as they were about to shut the kitchen, an elderly gentleman who i assume must be a regular came in and they didnt even tell him they were closing, they just served him and it honestly warmed my cold icy heart ❤️ 100% recommend a visit.”

“I used to live in Manchester and somehow never tried this place before! We were visiting for work and decided to stop by Tampopo for lunch – and yes, it was the right choice. The food was banging, full of flavour, and fairly priced. The ramen was especially great, and the kids’ menu was a hit – massively approved by the little ones, which is always key! Great service too. Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.”

“The food was delicious I don’t normally leave reviews but when asked I agreed to. We always go here when we go to a show at the Appollo. The place is clean and the burger was yummy. Extremely good value for 2 of us. Both had burger meal which came with a drink all for under £20. Xx”

“We ate in here this evening and it was the best Thai meal we’ve ever had. Went for the salt and pepper ribs and spring rolls to start. The meat on the ribs fell off the bone and the spring rolls were so fresh. The mains were stunning too, salt and pepper chicken with rice and crispy pork, along with the signature loaded fries (topped with chicken and steak slices and leathered in a lovely spicy mayo, barbecue sauce, fresh chillis and spring onion). It was enough to feed four, honestly the portions are huge. It’s a shame not more people were in, because this place is so nice and the price is reasonable for excellent and fresh food. The service is a little slow, but the lady waiting on was lovely and I suppose may have been helping out in the kitchen. The chef also came out when we were leaving to have a chat with us, who was really friendly and welcoming. Overall a lovely meal and will definitely go back.”

“The Malaysian restaurant to go in Manchester region. Great variety of Malaysian food available with good portion. Starters wise the satay, rojak and roti canai with curry is pretty good although the price for the satay is a little on the higher side. Mee Goreng and Nasi Lemak both are pretty good main options. Good variety of Malaysian drinks available as well. If looking for Malaysian restaurant in Manchester this would be their one to go. Limited parking outside. Sometimes can get a little busy during weekends so might need to book prior but otherwise seats are usually available. Waiting time varies with crowd.”

“This chippy has been here since I was a Kid back in the 80's, and the family who have owned the chippy since I can remember are still producing the same awesome English and Chinese food around. This is my go to chippy because it's always a trip down memory lane, the recipies have never changed and the food still tastes the same as back in the day. So you know 30 years or more running the place they have mastered their entire menu, I would recommend to all.”

The prices were amazing, the taste was incredible (we had 2 Dim Sum platters, a chow mein and a special fried rice, all for just £26.60) So excited to have a new fave takeaway!”
