“I can only go off my own experiences when reviewing here and have found Salford Community Leisure excellent value for money. I have the monthly corporate all inclusive package, which gives you full access to all of the classes, gyms and pools across the Salford area. Some of the gyms are in better condition than others, but for what you pay and for what you get, you are getting a really good deal. The staff and instructors I've found all incredibly friendly and helpful. There's a great range of gym classes at all times of the day, evenings and weekends. You can book over the phone, on their booking system and also on their app. My only criticism is like I mentioned earlier, where some of the gyms are in better condition than others, but that is sadly out of SCL's control due to Tory central government cuts over the past 12 years, meaning budgets are tight. I believe there are plans for all of the gyms to eventually be redeveloped or refurbished, but obviously these things take time.”

“The Black Friar has been amazing to work with for our friendship group's annual Christmas lunch. They made the entire booking process extremely easy, with all the T&Cs clearly outlined from the start. On the day we were looked after by Jess, who was incredible, very quick to respond to any issues raised, never kept anyone waiting, so accommodating with our various quirks (like pictures), and was easy to reach when needed without making it seem like hovering. And always with a smile, of course. Truly, truly a standout member of the team deserving of all the praise. The food at the Black Friar was also divine, incredibly generous portions (that I admit, have bested me) and every bite was a pleasure for all the senses. Our whole group was very happy with the afternoon we got to spend there and we will definitely be looking into coming back for next year's annual Christmas lunch, a total gem of a pub.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Warm Welcome from Elaine and the Black Dog Pub Team Elaine, the landlady of the Black Dog Pub in Belmont Village, deserves the highest praise. From the moment we arrived as new residents, she and her wonderful staff welcomed us with immense warmth and genuine hospitality. The atmosphere they’ve created at the Black Dog is friendly, inviting, and full of community spirit — exactly what every village pub should be. It’s quickly become our favourite local spot and a big part of why Belmont already feels like home. Thank you, Elaine, for making us feel so welcome!”

“Came to manchester from london and ordered pounded yam and oha soup. As soon as I tasted the soup it felt like been transported back to the village. I could taste the home cooking in every bite. Atmosphere was good. The host was friendly and in my view one of the best African restaurants I have visited.”

“The Manchester Science and Industry Museum is an absolutely fantastic place to visit, especially for families with children. One of the best parts is that entry is completely free, which makes it even more amazing considering how much there is to see and do inside. The museum is both educational and entertaining, offering a wide variety of interactive exhibits that stimulate children’s curiosity and creativity. There are hands-on activities designed to develop motor skills, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities — perfect for kids who love to explore and learn by doing. You can find fascinating displays about the Industrial Revolution, machines, technology, and even silk production, all presented in a way that’s engaging and easy to understand. The museum does a great job of connecting Manchester’s rich industrial history with modern scientific innovation. It’s also a great place for adults — the exhibits are well-organized, informative, and full of historical details about how Manchester played a key role in shaping the world of science and industry. Overall, it’s an inspiring, educational, and fun museum that truly captures the spirit of discovery. I highly recommend visiting, especially if you’re traveling with children or simply love science, technology, and history.”
