“My daughter joined the nursery 4 days a week over extended hours just before she turned 1. As a new parent I was really nervous about this but was immediately put at ease by the staff. My daughter started with a few settling in mornings and then began nursery the following week. Over the course of the 7 weeks I have seen my daughters progress updated on the ‘Famly’ app. This will tell you exactly what she has eaten and drank and how much, nappy changes and her sleep. The app is also updated with key information for the nursery along with pictures and progress of your child. I couldn’t recommend the nursery enough, when my daughter leaves for nursery in the mornings she happy to go and she comes home with a beaming smile and I can tell she’s had lots of fun. The staff at the nursery will go above and beyond to ensure not only your child is settled within the nursery but also check you are ok and send pictures and updates throughout those first few days.”

“Absolutely brilliant nursery, our son when he started in June had delayed social interaction and speech. He’s come on leaps and bounds and he really enjoys his time at the learning hive. All the staff are great with him, especially Ellie who spends a lot of time one on one with our son. I couldn’t recommend the learning hive enough.”

“My son has been enrolled since he was six months old, he has been supported through his development by the wonderful staff in each of the three rooms he’s passed through so far. He can be shy of people at first and the staff in each room have respected his need for space and time to get to know them and built solid relationships with him by taking things at his pace. As we begin our potty training journey the staff in his room are having frequent conversations with me about how it’s going and what we are doing to support him through this to ensure that they take a consistent approach with what is being done at home and his key worker Victoria has been excellent at taking him to the potty and encouraging him to sit when he is feeling stubborn.”

“Brilliant nursery. Both my 2 year old and 4 year old attend Holyrood castleton and are both looked after so well . They love going to nursery and have great relationships with all the staff . My 4 year old will be so sad to leave in September when she starts primary school in September, she has learnt so much whilst at nursery and is so ready for school thanks to holyrood !”

“Bowden House provides a wonderful setting for your child to thrive. Having had my older son at another local and reputable nursery and from talking to friends, I can honestly say it sits head and shoulders above the rest. Not only is the setting small and intimate, the staff are friendly to children and parents alike. My little boy had a special relationship with his key worker Ruby, who was always so bubbly and positive with him. Although he only attended two days a week would talk about her a lot and was always excited to go to nursery. The nursery keeps parents well informed of activities for the week ahead (always varied, creative and educational) and provide regular updates on your child’s progress. I highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking in the locality.”

Our son has been at Gelston since turning 1 so we have experienced the baby room (bunnies), toddler room (owlets) and now preschool (owls). At each age, I couldn't say enough positives about the staff, and their care, passion and knowledge within their roles - at all levels. A special shout-out has to go to three members of staff in particular, our son's key workers, they are incredible members of staff who have made the nursery journey seamless and enjoyable at all times. And of course, this wouldn't be possible without the outstanding management.
