βMy son currently attends The Nursery, he loves it there and is always happy to go. Heβs a little behind with his speech and the nursery have been brilliant with helping him develop this. The staff are all really lovely too!β
βThis is my school and I'm in tigers year 2β
βWhat an improvement to the old site. I thought it was a shame when the old buildings, including the library were demolished (although this has now been relocated), but after what seems like a lifetime of mess and traffic chaos the new building is light, modern and an asset to the town. Comparable to any other it's one of the best I've seen and is now fully open and operational to sixth form students.β
βMy son enjoyed his time at Pump Farm enormously. From his first weeks in Ducklings aged 13 months, his interests have been developed and he's now a very inquisitive and questioning child - just the kind I'd love to have in my classroom if he weren't my own! Writing lots of letters and numbers and sitting nicely at a table can wait - exploring the world around him and enjoying finding things out are the work of early years. I am full of admiration for the staff - they really care about bringing out the best in every child and are driven by what the child wants and needs rather than targets set by Government agencies. Too many other nursery providers locally are focused on getting children to sit down at tables & start their formal learningβ¦.. Iβm so glad we left our son with you for another year and kept him out of a classroom! He's happy to come back during the holidays for Forest Schools Holiday Club and explore the outdoors, taking risks in his play and developing his confidence. Our daughter attends Pump Farm Day Nursery in their Free Rangers/Forest Schools group and really enjoys the outdoor time and the creative risk taking that the setting provides for her. She too has grown into an inquisitive and adventurous child as a result of the amazing work the staff at the nursery do. I couldn't ask for a better place to entrust my children to.β
βI went to visit at the first time my son was visiting the college. And I loved the college .β
βReally like this school. Staff put heart and soul into teaching and inspiring the children. It seems well run and parents kept up to date with weekly news letters via email as well as text message reminders of important events. What could be improved would be after school clubs for the infant classes and a supervised after school childcare club:-)β

βGreat team and newly refurbished outside play area as well.β
βA dinner lady recently made some negative comments about the NZ attacks. This was in no way connected to the school, this was her own private opinion and one for which she has suffered. The school, police and other agencies have dealt with this immediately and the staff member is now not in their employment. These comments were not made by, or indeed the opinion of the school in any way. I have had all four of my children in this school for 11 years altogether. Never once have they let me or my children down. They are a great school which is reflected in their Ofsted report. I wholeheartedly support shaw wood and can only applaud them on their fast actions and discretion during a tough, challenging time. Highly recommend shaw wood for a primary school choice, it is inclusive of everyone and works very hard with families in our community. More importantly the children are happy, well educated And cared for. No brainer really.β
