   Shocking Christmas day dinner never had Christmas day out before but never again shocking food. Parsnips were burnt and food was luke warm, half way through meal we realised we had not been given pigs in blankets even though i paid for all the trimmings. There was the smallest dollop of red cabbage roast potatoes were pathetic and small amount of turkey,seemed like the food had been heated up from the day before. The Knives and forks and glasses were not the cleanest. staff seemed to be in another world we had our drink spilt over my husband not an enjoyable day at all. I think you need a window cleaner to come and clean the whole lot of your windows aswell very dirty.

   We have just been to the breakfast with santa. It was a lovely experience. There were craft activities with really nice quality stickers and glue and also a station to make up a bag of reindeer food. The breakfast was lovely. My daughter had the Christmas shaped pancakes with some strawberries and sauce, I had a vegetarian breakfast which was good. Santa was brilliant and the manager was around, working hard and dressed up too. The set up by the fireplace made for a lovely photo opportunity. Will come back again next year.

   Have been there lots of times in recent years. No problems, always good meals and good prices. Watched sports usually with my wife, either for me or my wife depending on who's playing. Sizzling meals are awesome, my favourite! My wife had a "kids" meal this time as she was not too hungry. Both good meals on our last visit, thanks! X

   If I could give a zero rating I would. Visited today. Sat inside. Ordered 2 x hunters chicken, one on a sizzling plate, and one just on a plate as I don't like onions. They both came on plates, even though one was ordered as a sizzler. To my disgust there was a huge pile of what looked like boiled onions under the chicken, see my photo. There was no cheese on the hunters chicken and minimal BBQ sauce. It would appear who ever is cooking the meals, clearly has no idea what they are doing, presentation skills leave a little to be desired. There's absolutely nothing sizzling about this pub!!!! and most certainly will not be visiting again.

   This place always exceeds my expectations. Fabulous staff who always go the extra mile. This visit was to celebrate my Mums 81st birthday. We booked on line and requested an easily accessible table. My request was acknowledged but we could choose as at that point they wasn’t too busy. The food and drinks were superb and it made my Mums day when her Chocolate Fudge cake had a candle on! Big thank you guys once again!

   Not a single soul behind.the bar since 1862........ no fear of getting intoxicated, cheap but dry, try the anvil. Jokes, amazing boozer, staff are fantastic.... when they turn up.

   Second time we've been here and we'll what can I say, incredible food again and the staff are always giving a proper clean, tables chairs even cushions, also started to rain outside while having a cigarette the manager came outside with an umbrella for us, now that is service son spilt his coke (always one) they came straight over cleaned it and replaced the large coke free of charge, this is the best place we have been to by far and will definatly be coming again thanks guys keep up the good work.
