   Went for Xmas day, bar was cluttered with empty glasses etc and took them a fair while to clean it up thus reducing part of the bar to queue up for drinks. Starter was completely dry (BBQ pork belly) main was the standard carvery with the exception of 2 pigs in blanket, roast potatoes were completely burnt I had to pick out the half decent ones. For dessert I had the cherry ganache which looked like it was basically a chocolate sponge cake with few cherries on top and tasted definitely from frozen. Considering we paid almost £60 I definitely expected better, yes I understand increased costs for wages etc on Xmas day but they doesn't take away the fact the food was poorly cooked. Wouldn't recommend this place in the slightest. Would have been 1 star but was greeted by a very nice chap and shown to our table hence the 2 stars.

   Came here last September. lamb beef turkey and gammon available.We really enjoyed it. Went last Saturday 15th November 5pm. Only gammon and beef available. I don't eat pork so only beef for me. 5 of us attended. We all asked for extra beef, to make up for the lack of other meats. The beef was fatty throughout. You could not cut it or chew it so chew and spit out of just swallow. We all just chewed and spat out. I will not be returning anytime soon. My intake consisted of mash potato roast potatoes 2 Yorkshire puddings and some peas. The rest of my party just ate the gammon which was salty yes its meant to be and then the veg. Eventually someone cleared our plates no one at any point asked how our meal was, even though you could see plates with piles of chewed up beef. All we got was oh I will clear this away for you. Shocking food won't recommend the carvery, we should have just ordered off the menue. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Update below. I have now been called a liar saying they didn't serve lamb. YES YOU DID. I also if you read this know it wasn't about portion size it was lack of minimum of 3 meats when only 2. Also the beef was awful as stated above and not addressed in there response below. Just go for the drinks guys the food has gone to pot. Response from the owner 2 hours ago Hi Roger Hunter, I’m disappointed to hear you have had a negative experience with us at the Sheldon hall, unfortunately we have never offered lamb on our carvery whilst being a Stonehouse brand. Our carvery is all to a certain portion of meat (weight) and that portion stays the same regardless of how many meats you have. Extra meat would unfortunately have to be paid for. I will relay to the team the importance of customer service and will ensure this does not happen again. Thank you for your feeedback, Kind regards

   We visited here while on holiday from the U.S. Kyle was so patient and helpful for us Americans. He told us about a special price available to us that wouldn’t have otherwise known about. The rest of the employees were very friendly, as well. The carvery food was delicious. Hot and tasty and plentiful. We will definitely come back here the next time we are in the area.

   I booked a table for 12, due to illness 10 were able to attend . A member of staff guided us to our table and was very polite . The bar staff were friendly and helpful and the carvery staff were also polite and assisted those in my group who were elderly . The vegetables were cooked just right no veg flying off the plate when using cutlery. The food was delicious and we all said we would come again. A good tip was left for the staff . Well done Sheldon Hall .

   We had Christmas menu. Starter of prawn cocktail was different as prawns were coated, but was very tasty. 3 meats on carvery, Turkey, beef and gammon. Vegetables cooked well. Christmas pudding very nice. Lovely meal, all enjoyed it. Service was good.

   The staff are really friendly and efficient. Stacey greeted us in a very professional manner,and Rosie our waitress who was only 17 really looked after us. Unfortunately the restaurant was very dust and had quite a few cob webs around. Regardless if the building is old,you really do need to employ a cleaner. Food was average for a carvery.

   very nice place. housed in the old Sheldon hall a historical home. good wheelchair access and ample parking. nice outdoor seating. in side the the restaurant and part is houses in the old library. You can still see the beams from he original house. There is also a cosy bar area. The toilet area is clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. it's a carvery and pizza place. The food is lovely and they don't skimp on the meat like some places. The puddings are nice as well. choice of sauces and gravy. clean. A place worth going to. we housed a dog show there 17th October 2021. We had the grounds for free they sold raffle tickets gave us a donation for the charity gift card bottle of wine and collection boxes. The staff were wonderful. Cant thank them enough the show was for the Eden suite at Heartland hospital Birmingham. where my sleeping Granddaughter Ruby was born. we raised £806.51. The venue was idilic and so accommodating. The food was really good even though they were so busy. A big thank you to kris Sarah and Rowland for all the help. would recommend the place. great place staff friendly and the food is really good..would recommend this place
