Me and my daughter have just got back from the oak, the food was excellent. Paul the chef recommended the surf and turf it was cooked to perfection. My daughter had the kids burger which could’ve easily been passed off as an adults meal she said it was 10/10. This is a lot more than the usual pub food I was expecting and il be returning soon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The staff were super friendly and food was great! Unfortunately the portion size with the pasta wasn't the largest especially for how much it cost. Overall, I would definitely recommend going in for lunch.
Having lived in Walmley for most of my life and been a regular at The Oak for many years, I was initially disappointed when it transitioned into a gastro pub and chose to stop visiting. However, with the recent change in management and a refreshed kitchen, we decided to give it another try—and I’m very glad we did. We ordered a few drinks, the prawn starter, beer-battered tikka starter, the ribeye steak special, and a sirloin steak. Everything was cooked exactly to our preferences, and the texture and flavor of the food were outstanding. I can confidently say I prefer this steak over what I’ve had at Miller & Carter. Service was prompt, the staff were friendly and professional, and it’s great to see that dogs are still welcome. A solid 10/10—keep up the excellent work. We’ll definitely be back!
Well worth a visit. Friendly and welcoming staff, with lots of recent improvements to the pub including adding live music and events. New food menu is excellent with lots of choice, great quality and reasonably priced. Drinks are always very good with clean glasses and cold pints!
Me and my 19 year old daughter popped in for food . Fantastic menu ! Something for everyone to choose from, Food arrived freshly cooked and piping hot and very tasty! Really enjoyed it was cooked to perfection. Nice surroundings and pleasant atmosphere and also a good price ! First class food very good value definitely recommend! Will be going back again with friends / family x
Such an amazing pub!! New to the area with a new puppy, and I felt so welcome. Josh and Sophie were amazing, so welcoming and always up for puppy cuddles

Reserved table for a family meal. Ordered at the bar. Food arrived quick and hot. Waitress got food mixed up and gave chicken wings to the vegetarians and the cauliflower wings to the meat eaters, luckily we realised and swapped. Pub okay for locals.
Always enjoy coming to the oak. The staff are friendly, always remember what your drinking, fabulous food and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Kids always like coming also a dog friendly. Our rotty is always spoiled when he comes 5 ⭐️
Great place to share a drink amongst friends, the staff are all very welcoming and nice, the fact there’s a sports bar available with pool and darts is the ice breaker for me. Got to say the three key staff members while I was there were phenomenal, Soph, Salina and Rina were a joy and pleasure to be around.
