First time here and they have a really good menu where you can easily find all the food & drinks available. The staff were very friendly and they were very accommodating. The food & drink was lovely ❤️
We come to Cromwells every Saturday, it’s become our weekend tradition! I always get the creamy peppered mushrooms on toast, and they never disappoint, absolutely delicious every time. The staff are amazing, friendly, welcoming, and they always make us feel right at home. A lovely spot for breakfast or brunch, especially with family. Highly recommended! —Jake, India & Millie
Expensive for what it is. Ordered a BLT and to be fair, all three ingredients were included but the bacon was cold and obviously came out of a fridge pre-cooked. The sandwich for some unknown reason was cut into tiny triangles and served on a plate with a pile of unnecessary 'salad' to fill the plate out. Because the sandwich was cut up into tiny triangles it was difficult to pick up and as I mentioned, the bacon was very cold. All in all it was an unpleasant experience. To top things off, when paying, I mentioned to the young member of the staff how cold the bacon was, she just looked confused and and giggled....not the best response and poor customer service. We won't be returning.
Had the omelette for breakfast which was average/ ok; the creamy mushrooms however were to die for. Staff friendly and great atmosphere.
Really lovely hidden gem. Great service and great food. I stopped here alone on a busy lunch time accommodating a bite to eat. Really lovely food and great cup of tea. I also took a coffee out to try the coffee and not bad at all. Thank you
Speedy and friendly service, scrambled eggs were absolutely top notch. Arrived at 9am on a Saturday morning and by 9.30 the place was full! You can book tables so I’d maybe advise doing that.
Visited again for the second time. Just as the first absolutely wonderful. Food, staff and atmosphere amazing. Can't speak too highly of it. Will be back again in the new year.
Really lovely breakfast! I had a green tea and eggs benedict which was amazing. My mum and grandma had mushrooms on toast which they said was equally yummy. Lovely servers and pretty quick service considering how busy it was. The gentleman that served us was extremely polite, helpful and very attentive. As someone who also works in hospitality it was lovely to be looked after by someone so smiley and jolly despite knowing how stressful it can get when busy! We will definitely be returning for more!
I went there twice on my day in Pontefract. The breakfast looked ordinary, but that sausage had delicious herbs. The coffee and chocolate cake in the afternoon was delicious and I enjoyed sitting outside. It is popular. Every seat was taken. The staff were professional and welcoming. The afternoon tea set looked awesome. I am back in Canada and remembering Cromwells quite fondly.
I absolutely loved the mushrooms on toast and the Camembert cheese special was delightful. We will definitely be going back.
