“Really enjoyed our visit the food was good and so was the service, it was good to get a dressing on the salad not many places do that. I had tuna and cheese toastie on sourdough it was very tasty, we recommend this cafe.”

I really like that there is a lovely little area at the front where you can sit down, enjoy a drink or just relax while your table is being prepared, it makes the whole dining experience feel even more special. The décor inside is beautiful and instantly transports you to Italy, giving you that authentic feel that pairs perfectly with the food. I have been many times over the years and I can honestly say it never disappoints. The atmosphere, the staff, the food and the overall experience are always spot on. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a fantastic meal in Pontefract, Mama Mia’s should absolutely be at the top of your list.”

“Pontefract market used to be quite big. But like everything with on line shopping etc it had got smaller. The inside market is great always brings back memories of when I was a kid. There are lots of new shops in there now, all the people that rent them are always friendly and helpful.”

“Stopped here today for a truckers full English and i have to say it was 10/10. I had the large breakfast with bottomless tea and i didn’t leave feeling bloated like you sometimes do after a breakfast it was just right. All staff are friendly and welcoming l!! so it’s a massive thumbs up you will see me again at some point in the future.”

“It’s a cute little cafe, I came in for a quick drink and would come again. The menu is simple which is not necessarily a bad thing, plus there are cakes available which look lovely. They even gave me a party ring biscuit with my mocha which is just fab. Service was also decent too!”

“On arrival the landlord gave me a guided tour. Really nice regulars in a comfy setting, log fired in the winter months with a good selection of beers to choose from. There are live bands entertaining during each month with tastes for all kinds of music. Nice start to the night when visiting Ropergate or a snug afternoon tipple, definitely one to go to!”

“Great food, well priced and dog friendly. The coffee (from Castleford based roasters Recent Beans) is superb, and they have a lovely outside area for sunny days. The milkshakes are also excellent! We love it!”
