The food is always outstanding and super fresh, every dish tastes like it has been made with real care and quality ingredients. Even when visiting on a weekday the place is buzzing with atmosphere, which speaks volumes about just how loved it is in the community. It is no wonder that Mama Mia’s has been open for over 30 years, the consistency and dedication really shine through every single time. I really like that there is a lovely little area at the front where you can sit down, enjoy a drink or just relax while your table is being prepared, it makes the whole dining experience feel even more special. The décor inside is beautiful and instantly transports you to Italy, giving you that authentic feel that pairs perfectly with the food. I have been many times over the years and I can honestly say it never disappoints. The atmosphere, the staff, the food and the overall experience are always spot on. If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a fantastic meal in Pontefract, Mama Mia’s should absolutely be at the top of your list.”

“Was fortunate enough to catch this gem of a pub before it's demise really can't understand how a pub with great music reasonable priced beer and decent staff can't stay in business . Was made really welcome as an out of towner. If I'd gone to this boozer first I would have stayed all night.”

“Went in not wanting anything heavy so they had a selection of cold sweets to have with a coffee. Millionaire shortbread was very nice and the service and welcome was a cut above. Also nice to see them give school holiday kids a bit of a go. It is clearly valued as a place by the community. Great place.”

“We had fish and chips mushy peas, a small and a medium, and there was plenty, the fish was beautiful chips was lovely.the staff was polite and helpful. Would recomend everyone to go to knights fish and chips restaurant.”

“Pontefract market used to be quite big. But like everything with on line shopping etc it had got smaller. The inside market is great always brings back memories of when I was a kid. There are lots of new shops in there now, all the people that rent them are always friendly and helpful.”

“Stopped here today for a truckers full English and i have to say it was 10/10. I had the large breakfast with bottomless tea and i didn’t leave feeling bloated like you sometimes do after a breakfast it was just right. All staff are friendly and welcoming l!! so it’s a massive thumbs up you will see me again at some point in the future.”

“Had a delightful meal here recently, staff couldn't have been more welcoming or accomodating. We forgot to specify that we were booking for a meal so there wasn't supposed to be food on that night but one of the staff swapped into her chef whites & cooked us up a delicious feast. Would absolutely recommend, baked camembert (both flavours) & the mussels were spot on!”

“It’s a cute little cafe, I came in for a quick drink and would come again. The menu is simple which is not necessarily a bad thing, plus there are cakes available which look lovely. They even gave me a party ring biscuit with my mocha which is just fab. Service was also decent too!”
