Stopped for lunch with Three-year-old daughter and my wife. Not only was the food lovely, but our server Leah could not have been more accommodating to our young one. Brought a few small toys over and some colouring to keep her occupied and spoke really nicely to her. Daughter went chasing her to show off her colouring she liked her that much. Thank you Leah, not only for the sublime food, but for treating my daughter the way you did. We will certainly be back!

We visited your restaurant and were greeted by friendly, welcoming front-of-house staff. Even the new staff member in training had great manners and made us feel comfortable — credit where it’s due.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The menu looked good, but the food was extremely disappointing. I ordered the salt and pepper calamari — there was absolutely no taste at all. “Shocking” would be an understatement. It definitely wasn’t salt and pepper.
My partner ordered the scallops — still looking for the scallops, because there basically weren’t any.
For mains, we shared the chicken and mushroom pie. It looked and tasted like it came straight out of a tin. Absolutely disgusting. The best thing about that dish was sending it back.
We still paid the bill — we know everyone has bills to pay — but this meal was one of the most disappointing we’ve had in a long time.
Before ordering, I’d even mentioned to the waitress that I was a chef and joked about helping in the kitchen. When she brought our drinks, she said, “Can you be our new head chef?” — I should’ve taken that as a sign not to order.
Very disappointed overall. You need to seriously look at changing your chefs, because your pub could be amazing. The front-of-house team did their job perfectly, but the kitchen let them down badly.

We had the 3 course meal on a Saturday at 2.30pm. Service was excellent. Our order for drinks went in quickly and was delivered exactly as ordered. This usually never happens when we eat out. The soups were hot and tasty. The mains were very generous, hot and excellent value for money. Both courses were served quickly and with a smile. We were asked if we wanted to wait a while for desserts which we did. The desserts were generous portions and very nice. As some have mentioned in other reviews the decor is a little tired but the food and service more than made up for that. My only suggestion is that my three courses were the Vegan options and both the main and dessert were pastry based. This made the meal a bit on the heavy side. I was also happy that the Vegan options were not fake meat rubbish which I don't want when eating out. The dishes could have had a little more legumes in them but overall they were very good. I hope that we can return soon.

We visited here on a Sunday, there was 4 of us: myself, my girlfriend, my son and her grandma. The pub was quiet when we arrived but filled up around 1pm. Nice family feel and lots of choice on the menu. Staff were all friendly and the barman was particularly good, steered us around some choices on the menu. I had pate to start and then the trio of roasts for main. Pate was good, thick toast and nice pate. The trio of roasts was nearly perfect but the beef was quite fatty which really detracted from the meal. Couldn't deduct a whole star though as everything else was spot on. I treated myself to a creme brulee which was very good. Will be back to try some different things on the menu

Firstly, the food was very good. Crispy Camembert Bites were lovely and my ribeye was cooked just right with a lovely beef dripping sauce and my wife absolutely loved her chicken and smoked pancetta pie. That's the good, now for the bad. Where it loses stars is the terrible service, not just for us but the other diners around us too. The staff were polite enough but lack training and supervision. The waitress struggled using her tablet, couldn't find wife's drink, saying it had all just changed. We struggled all night to get her attention. She never asked if things were okay and stood daydreaming most of the time, like she didn't want to be there and was just going through the motions. My wife asked for a second drink and after 20 mins waiting I had to ask where it was. The waitress apologised that it'd been forgotten, but then it took at least another 10 mins to finally arrive, by which time we'd finished eating. Cutlery was forgotten on the table next to us and then again for us, then just plonked on the table upside down. We spent a good 10 mins trying to get the bill, even though it wasn't busy. The interior is potentially lovely but tired and in need of a good spruce up. The toilets were in dire need of updating and not that clean, which is never a good sign. The search goes on for great food AND service. Shame really, because the chefs were obviously doing their job well.
