My wife and I ate here on Friday 19th December. The venue is lovely and the staff incredibly polite and helpful. It's rare to find such a good menu. I simply had fish and chips for a main and it was the best fish I have had in as long as I can remember.
A lovely venue with attentive and helpful staff. We had a family lunch/ get together yesterday. We were a party of 12, and were seated in a side room which was absolutely ideal with a young child and baby. The food and service was excellent. A big thank you especially to Jimmy the manager who dealt with the booking and my requests prior to the meal. Would definitely recommend and hopefully return in the near future. The Dorman family
Lovely pub in a lovely setting. We came here for drinks and as it was lunchtime we decided to have food as well. Our food was absolutely superb. The price reflects the quality of the food you get. The staff are brilliant as well. Thank you for a lovely lunch.
Plenty of parking. Beautifully situated. Accommodation is well appointed with a Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, ironing board and iron, and little extras like fresh milk for your tea/coffee plus delicious biscuits. The restaurant dinner was pricey but well worth it - the 3 fruit crumble (dessert) a particular highlight! But breakfast was surprisingly disappointing by comparison (bacon was rock hard, sausage overcooked, and tomato cooked so much there was no actual tomato to enjoy), but the fruit juice and fresh fruit and self-serve area was wonderfully fresh. And overall the service thoughout the trip was attentive and very friendly. Would easily recommend.
Overall great food in a lovely old pub. My fish was excellent, service was slow and one dish was cold, but made up for this with customer service (didn't charge for puddings). Would recommend to all for good food in the bakewell/Matlock area.
I had my first meal on Saturday. The food was wonderful, perfectly cooked and well presented. However, the quantities were exceedingly small. I am not a big eater, but I was bitterly disappointed to feel slight hunger, having spent over £100 (for 2) on a three-course lunch. I will not be recommending.
Loved this beautiful Inn. Stayed for 2 nights and the rooms were so comfortable with wonderful features. The breakfast was perfect with a delicious selection to choose from and more than enough for even the most hearty appetites. Would definitely come again, thank you to all the lovely staff for a memorable stay.
Beautiful and charming. Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Gorgeous food too. We have been staying just around the corner in a holiday rental cottage for our honeymoon and keep coming to The Devonshire Arms to eat. Keep doing what you're doing. Top marks!
We enjoyed a lovely meal here about a month ago. The best thing about this place is the staff. From the lovely Oliver in the restaurant to the extremely friendly bar staff, we really felt at home. The pub / restaurant is also really cosy and beautifully decorated. The food was slightly burnt which was a pity but nothing too major. Overall really enjoyable visit. Thank you!
