We have been to smithy pond a few times which has always been good we went last weekend and I have to say the menu isn't great for selection I get that it's festive season but I ended up just ordering two starters. The food was good warm when I came just a better selection would be nice especially if you don't like a roast dinner.
Used to love coming here but they have changed the menu to suit vegans and not vegetarians. The offering of mushrooms is really dated in this day and age. If you don’t like mushrooms or plant based food you are stuffed. The halloumi, chips and peas was a favourite of mine. Until menu changes I’ll take my custom elsewhere.
Always nice here. Pub grub at a good price in a lovely setting. Beautiful lake right next to it. Always a good pint and a cracking meal. Service is always great too. Been going to the Smithy on and off for years and really cant fault it. Hits the spot every time! If you download the greene king app too you get occasional offers like a free pint or desert etc
Been twice in the last few weeks and both times food was really disappointing and didn't manage to finish the meals. The menu has really reduced as well, but usually this is to be able to make better quality meals and this hasn't been the case. Staff are always lovely and friendly. Won't be returning for food until the food improves.
Had a family get together to celebrate a birthday. Food is really good lots of choice.. we were told 30 mins waits, but I think it was a lot quicker. Nice staff. The favourite was Hunters chicken, but I had the Roast.
Lovely staff, went with the family for a birthday. Food was served quickly and was lovely. The views of the pond from the outside seating area are stunning. Even after we finished eating and went to sit outside with a few drinks the staff couldn't do enough for us, offering to pop the outdoor heaters on for us. Lovely evening out generally lovey staff.
Very friendly staff and the food was delicious too. Beautiful scenery and a play area for the kids also..... Travelled from Wakefield to this pub/restaurant and wasn't disappointed in any way at all...10/10
Greeted by friendly staff. Given a table immediately on arrival. Food came quickly and was lovely. Not been here for a meal in many years. The restaurant was clean and nothing too much trouble staff checked that we were ok a few times. Very good experience I really enjoyed it and would come back again.
