   I and my friends stayed here in late November 2025. Can't fault anything. The waiting Staff were polite and courteous and nothing was a bother. Dinner and breakfast was excellent and prices at the bar was reasonable to say the least. Rooms were small but cosy and serviced daily. Hotel was walking distance to York. All in all we had a fab time and will recommend this hotel to family and friends. Well done to all the staff. Will hopefully visit in the future.

   All the staff we met was absolutely great, friendly and helpful. We never eat here other then breakfast which was delicious and a fair choice and we actually got to see the kitchen area and it was spotlessly clean and the breakfast service spot on. The room we had was clean and comfortable which is all you really need only niggle I had was TV in the room was tiny for the distance it's mounted to the top of the bed where you sit to watch it's not the best, but thats just for us.

   Beautiful building, very cosy rooms and perfect location ! I took a double room as a solo traveller, found the place very welcoming and homely. The staf was super kind, taking the time to offer suggestions and help for my visit in York. Went on the city walls my first evening as they suggested and caught the prettiest sunset. Breakfast was really good too, so overall I can only recommend !

   What a find this place is. Rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I like visiting York and I now have my new go to place to stay. Easy to get to by car and a short walk to the city centre. I'd highly recommend it to everyone.

   Great location, nice leisurely stroll into the town centre. Breakfast was delicious + the rooms were nice. The only two slight criticisms were the shortage of parking it took us quite some time to drive round looking for a space as it's a small car park and most of the roads require a parking permit. and the lack of power in the shower on the top floor. Other than that the staff were great and very good cleanliness

   We really want to score this well. As all the staff & management are really good. The breakfasts are substantial & nice. However I'm afraid the room just let our whole stay down. We were placed on the top floor, an old attic area I might suggest? which had one small window. It was no easy feat getting there either, with two suitcases and no lift, it was a challenge as we are getting older. The bedroom was small with a very outdated en-suite. However it was clean and tidy. It had turned cold on our trip and the room was really chilly. I did report this and was given an additional heater, which I had to lug up two flights of stairs. Overall it was fair.

   Excellent Hospitality. Friendly warming and very welcoming. Tasty breakfast. Cosy rooms with comfortable beds. It’s been a long time since me and my son visited York and finding the right hotel we did. Thank you so much we had a wonderful time. We will definitely visit you again.    Lovely place! The staff were extremely friendly, it was clean and quiet. Large garden area so you can sit outside. Little bar that doesn't rip you off. The beds were comfy and plenty of space in the room. Breakfast was great with a nice choice. I would 100% come again!
