It's a walk through basically, good for an hour or two plus lunch at the modest cafΓ©. Not a bad place to take older children. The only slight bugbear is it doesn't have its own car park, though in October street parking nearby wasn't a problem.

What a little gem! I didn't know this place existed until I was googling things to do. I took my 2 children aged 9 & 2 and they both had the most amazing day, as did I. The tropical house has so much to see and is far bigger than I ever expected. The only negative I have to mention is a lot of the glass in the tanks is quite dirty so it can be hard to see the fish but I imagine this isn't an easy job to clean. This aside, we loved everything about it and will definitely be back. The price is brilliant and even better if you have a max card, 1 adult goes free and under 3's are free too! We ate in the cafe and food was freshly prepared and tasty, price wise I don't think it was too bad for what you got. Lots of space to eat and you can enjoy your own food in the outside picnic area! We will definitely visit again.

Really lovely place to visit! Bigger than I thought it would be (and than it looked when we first entered). Lots to see, especially good for children, and a good mix of species. Some areas are sloped and are hard to navigate with a manual wheelchair but almost all areas are wide enough to pass through easily and visibility of the animals was good in most areas from a seated position. Would be helpful to have clearer guides/signs along the way for those with visual impairment (route directions, entry & exit signs between the different areas, high contrast on level changes). CafΓ© was nice; good variety of food at good prices, plenty of space around tables and lovely outdoor seating (two areas, one overlooking gardens). Would recommend

The animals are well cared for but there isn’t really that much to see in the grand scheme of things. I think we only saw like 4 butterflies and each enclosure has one or two animals at best (on average, some have more) There are a lot of kids screaming and shouting so I’d avoid going on a weekend if you want to properly have a look.

It's a nice, reasonably priced day out for the kids with a wide variety of different animals from around the world that are well treated and seem happy and some of the birds come right up close. Just a few empty areas/ displays and only a few butterflies when we were there - but for the price and being council run it was good. Cafe drinks not overly priced either for a change!

Overall the experience was fine, we were lucky in that many animals became active while we were around, unfortunately many exhibits were closed due to various reasons. The entire area is smaller than I anticipated, even with research of what was to be expected, and despite going around slowly we were out in maybe an hour or so. It should be noted that it does become very busy especially on weekends, which naturally makes sense as it was full of children who are obviously off from school. Overall this is a nice place to go.

This is a really good place in the summer, January not so much, there was no butterflies, no birds ( well we saw 2). The fish and the meerkat were lovely but it would have been nice to actually see birds and butterflies, I understand that it's winter but with it begin a tropical house I assumed it would be all year round. I'm unsure if the prices reflect this as I cant remember what we paid in the summer. The price for 3 children and a adult was under Β£20 so I cant really complain, the children had a lovely day and the grounds it's situated on is lovely, it's just a shame it was raining so we couldn't enjoy the outside areas.

It was pretty good. You get through it very fast though so take your time. Gift shop is decent and the staff are nice. Its very hot!! Don't dress warmly or at least take your jacket off before you go in. The bugs are mostly loose so be warned you will get attacked by the odd butterfly or beetle. All in all its a great time and good to visit. Definitely doesn't kill a full day though!

A really good place to visit its fully wheelchair accessible. In the butterfly House you are travelling on a wooden slat bridge but we were OK even with a manual wheelchair. So what animals, snakes, spiders insects, fish, birds I loved seeing the Ray as well as the amazon fish. So many colours. Did I mention reptiles, no well they even have a crocodile lizards and a day gecko. If you want a souvenir they have a huge shop full and a large cafe the cakes and coffee were yummy. Toilets are in the shop and cafe. Again full accessibility. We had a lovely day.

They got some wildlife in there, such a spider, snakes, lizard, fish, birds and many more. Highly recommend that zoo. Just to let everyone that if you planing to visit, come with t-shirt on you. Very hot inside there.
