The pitches have a good gravel base and they are generally flat. If it rains heavily large puddles form as the site doesn't have good surface water drainage. The main issue is the electric supply, there are quite a few outage and the voltage is low around 212 instead of being between 230 and 240. Appliances, like the fridge, do not work correctly. Please be warned.

Nit a large site, nearly full at beg Oct. Open so pitch not entirely private but nicely kept. Showers and toilets clean, dud have heaters which were not on. No light by pot wash so problem if you're washing up a bit later in the evening. Quite a tight turn through the keycoded gate. Fox cafe on site during the day, good breakfast

Very neat, well-maintained campsite with extremely clean toilets and showers. (3 women's toilets, 2 men's plus urinal. 5 unisex large showers). Could do with more dishwashing facilities. Bus to Chester stops very near campsite entrance. Overall a very good campsite unfortunately marred by the very noisy road network adjacent.

Stayed in Pod Number 2 at Oakwood Farm Chester. Immaculate, spotless, and beautifully presented. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and the hot tub was the absolute highlight! The only minor downside was checkout: listed as 11 am, but we were asked to leave by 10 am with no late checkout option. Other than that, a fantastic stay and would happily return! Definitely recommend :)

What a rip off , £30 a night for scruffy , tired facilities , 1 shower , 2 toilets and a hand basin ! To add insult to injury our only source of water was from the hand basin ! All other water was switched off! We were not informed of this on arrival nor was it mentioned at any time the 3 nights we stayed there . The couple next to us said don't bother complaining it will get you no where and absolutely no chance of a reduction , we have tried. They also told us there was a tap at the far end of the barn but a permanent resident was already tapped in to it ! Yes the weather was freezing but other sites we have been to provide at least one well insulated tap to fill your water barrel , all we could manage was to fill a kettle !

This is a very small campsite. We stayed for 2 weeks and it is very quiet, we enjoy a bit of peace and quiet at our age. The pitches are serviced and well maintained. The site is central to many locations. We even had a trip to Llandudno which is only about an hour away. The toilet block is basic but does the job. We would definitely come back again in the future.

Nice flat pitches, great location. I found the info email in advance of our arrival very helpful, I wish more site owners thought to do this. Each hardstanding pitch has its own tap and electric hook up which makes pitching up very easy. The owners are very pleasant and accommodating and we didn't find either the site or the road especially noisy, as others have commented; the whole site was calm during the evening. We stayed the week from August bank hol onwards so I doubt it was untypically quiet. Facilities including showers, toilets, washing up and waste disposal are basic but clean and well kept. There's a walk straight from the site's walking gate where we took our dogs, it's a bridleway or similar, very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay very much. Pleased to hear it's open all year, will definitely be returning.

Just had a two night stay, only a 45 minute drive from our home but wanted somewhere close to try out our new tent, we found this site to be a great little site for what we needed, we where greeted and shown to our pitch by the owner, and we had a great pitch with electric hook up and water supply right by our tent. Shower and toilets where clean and tidy. Great on site cafe which do a amazing breakfast and fantastic service. There is noise from the main road but it's not a issue as when you look on the map of the location before booking the site you can see its just off the main road so you have to expect some noise. Overall this is a great little site and we will return in the future.
