“Great place to get lost and chill with Sunda gharials and converse with the wise orangutan”
“We had an amazing family day out. So much to see (impossible to see in one day). Plenty of cafes, restaurants and clean toilets all around the zoo. Also plenty of benches to sit on when you need a break. We will definitely visit again”
“I always love visiting Chester zoo and being enlightened educationally at Cedar house, Staff are consistently polite, friendly and welcoming!”
“A beautiful cathedral lots of history and things to see. £5 voluntary admission price into cathedral. Takes a good hour to walk about. On day of visit part of area was unaccessible due to a private function. Nice grounds to walk around also souvenir shop.”
“Visited near Christmas in an afternoon for lunch. The food was really nice - and a little bit more unusual for what you'd normally expect from a 'tourist attraction' type place! The staff were friendly and helpful with assisting with a gluten intolerance that one of our party has. Would definitely recommend for if you are visiting Chester Zoo!”
“Gardens are absolutely amazing and well maintained. There is no litter and graffiti to be seen. Lovely to walk around at your own pace and take in history. Well worth a visit”
“An beautiful and amazing place. Hopefully going back soon as didn't have enough time to do and see everything”
“Fantastic place for a walk , and free parking.”
“Good quality accommodation at a reasonable price. The YHA has a fab recreation room, a communal kitchen, a canteen (serving a 10/10 full English/ continental breakfast) and a onside restaurant. Its also set in the most beautiful grounds around 12-15 minutes drive from Chester.”
“Brilliant value for visiting the Christmas markets in Chester. Room was spotless, breakfast was delicious and service was spot on. A shout out to Anthony who was very friendly and helpful.”
“Absolute brilliant spot to stop off at for the night, or however long you’re in Chester for. Even if you’re from Chester and looking for some down time I would highly recommend this place. It’s positioned in the most convenient spot, with a great rooms, a great restaurant and great staff. Me and my partner enjoyed our stay here very much. Thank you guys!”
“We booked a room for 3 adults, then were upgraded to a suite with 2 bedrooms, kitchen and sitting area. Everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were superb. Much, much more than expected from a service station hotel. Very near to Cheshire Oaks outlet village. We will definitely stay here again.”
“Great little hidden secret right by the 2nd biggest attraction in the UK. The park has just undergone an expansion and currently waiting to flourish, don't expect to see lots of wildlife you need to have patience but there is a Hide to wait out and see if you can spot otters, kingfishers or what ever nature throws at you. Once the plots and park mature this will be a haven for wildlife. 5* because it's beautiful and quiet, nice for a picnic but if you have young kids like me maybe the zoo would be a better place for you. If you want peace and reflect or want to photograph wildlife and flowers this is the place. #getoutdoors”
“It is just some cabinets in the food hall. It's free and looks great.”
“We stayed at the city hotel for 2 nights for my partners birthday weekend away, before we even arrived Sophie was texting us to see if we needed anything and let us know our room was ready, and wow what a room! We stayed in room 6 which has a free standing bath and all the little Luxuries you could need, from coffee pods, tea, fresh milk to shower gels, shampoo and bath salts. The room is well presented and nicely laid out with a very comfy bed and soft furnishings giving that homely luxury feel. Sophie was always on hand only a text away and willing to answer any questions or queries we had, as well as providing our welcome drinks on arrival and making sure our room had extra towels and toiletries on day 2 of our stay. I would HIGHLY recommend the city hotel Chester for a weekend get away and cannot thank Sophie enough for all the effort she puts into looking after her guests.”
“We had a wonderful stay at the Village Hotel Chester St. David’s! Holly at reception was incredibly kind and understanding — she helped us change the dates of our stay due to illness, which we really appreciated. Everyone we met was super friendly and helpful, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The food deals were fantastic, especially with the app discounts — excellent value for money and great quality. Breakfast was brilliant too — plenty of choice, fresh, and tasty with something for everyone. Overall, a really lovely experience with great service and great people. We’ll definitely be back!”
“I visited yesterday and got surprised with the views, it’s by the Chester Canal and a much softer place for cycling. There are plenty of chairs and tables to chill.”
“lovely house.great location.Lovely and clean”
“Lovely clean house, and decent sized garden, and perfect for visiting the zoo, blue planet quarium and the Ice Cream which has much more than ice cream to keep little ones busy. Chris, the owner, was very attentive and checked in several times, although not excessively, to ensure we had all we need. If in need of food can fully recommend the Indian at the end of the road and there is also a spar for any supplies. We will be back.”
“I've stayed in a few air b n b. An I have to say this is right at the top of my list. Lovely and clean.. well kept..comfy beds. very nice decor.. child friendly house.. plenty of space. Close to local shops. The owner is so friendly and polite. Will definatley be staying again”
“Wonderful apartment with 5 star service from beginning to end. The owner, Patrizio, has some serious interior design skills, the place is so beautiful. For a group of girls going to Chester Races ladies day, it was the perfect glamorous spot. Right in the centre of Chester surrounded by boutiques, restaurants and bars, yet very peaceful inside. Breakfast brought to the room was the icing on the cake. I can see this becoming an annual event!”
“First time ordering from here and it wont be the last every item on our order was fantastic. Our daughter recommended this fantastic place to us,my parents visited before they went to Thailand and they enjoyed it. Now we have tried it.I was hooked after just 2 mouthfuls of my chicken panang. The spring rolls, fishcakes and the stuffed wings exquisite. We are celebrating our 27th anniversary and this was our anniversary meal. I guarantee we will be ordering again thank you so much.”
“Easy to get to off motorway! Lots of parking, £2.50 return from town. Highly recommend!!!”
“Lovely green place to visit. Clean and tidy. If you’re dog walker then it must be kept on a lead. Even good place for river views. God place for children to play. It must be lovely day out in summer for a picnic not bad in autumn either. Worth to visit and have a walk at the edge of river”
“Fab little cafe and great location just off M56 on way to/from North Wales. Dog friendly. Honest hearty food at fair prices. Will be back. Thanks”
“Had a lovely breakfast this morning. The service was so friendly and welcoming. The coffee was exceptional. We will definitely be back!”
“Also a beautiful piece of the city of Chester. You can see the beautiful River Dee and its banks. I was impressed by, how it connects the two plateaus of the city, and there are many historical bridges as well. I will comment on them. Indeed, this city deserves to be visited and I recommend it. It deserves five stars and more. ”
“Chester Roman blends historic charm with modern elegance, right by the East Gate Clock. A prime spot, buzzing with tourists and offering a vibrant, lively atmosphere. Minutes from Chester Station and the iconic city landmark. Stroll along the Chester Walls and soak in the beautiful surroundings. A perfect location for both short visits and longer stays, full of character and energy.”
