We stay here around Christmas time in a family room. Maria is always so welcoming, friendly and always around to help! She always makes a fuss of our little boy! For the price it's great value. Bunk beds could do with new mattresses but my little one slept fine.
I enjoyed my one night here. Great location and perfect for what I wanted. Upon arrival and throughout my stay, I was made very welcome and well looked after by Maria on reception and during breakfast. I paid £5.00 for breakfast in the morning and it was money well spent. Cereals, juice, yoghurt, a full and well cooked English breakfast, bread, toast, preserves and tea or coffee were all available together with some pain au chocolate and fruit. Magnificent. Thank you very much Maria. I would certainly stay here again.
I had a fantastic stay here fantastic room with a private patio french doors to gardens very comfortable bed bathroom bath shower lovely soft towels tea/coffee fridge with snacks and drinks at separate price . like everyone one else is saying could do with being updated but also the price you pay needs to reflect this I paid under £30 for the night the staff were wonderful I would happily stop again very well located to all of Southport shops and town centre Breakfast is £5 a very reasonable price and the do have a evening menu too very clean smell clean and fresh very happy for price paid great job
We arrived here for a one night stay over the bank holiday weekend and we're greeted by a very friendly lady on reception. We had a nice big room with a fridge, kettle, hair dryer, bath and TV. The location is perfect, only a 10 minute stroll into town. Comfy bed and and a great breakfast too. A big thank you to all the staff for your hospitality, we will be back soon.
The room sadly wasn’t even up to an ok standard. It wasn’t necessarily the decor I mean the complete cleanliness of it. My two little boys even remarked and asked me ‘ Why I had booked this hotel, and why they had to stay in this room’ The room was dirty and very dusty, and the bed linen unclean. We didn’t end up staying and sadly came back for are belongings the next day. Everything about the room wasn’t great, I can’t understand how hotel providers can be outsourcing rooms for this hotel, without having some sort of standard set. My email asking for a refund was met with a very hostile male owner, who clearly has issues about anybody having an opinion, and wasn’t bothered about our experience, but bothered about being on the defence, behaving very rudely and talking to me very abruptly and he was not at all apologetic. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel on the basis of the pictures not at all being a true reflection of the hotel, and also the non-standard of cleanliness…. and also the sheer disgusting attitude of the male owner, it’s clear he’s very aware of the abhorrent condition of his hotel, and in denial you just have to look at his non-professional replies on Tripadvisor to past guests. It’s a shame as his wife Maria was so lovely and very welcoming. I think he seems to think because the rooms are of a cheap price, there doesn’t have to be standards kept, but maybe if he was truly invested he would want to make these changes so he had happy returning customers, who wouldn’t mind paying a higher premium. It was cold dark and old. plug sockets wronge way round in our room. Also shows a garden area which you have pay extra 19 pound to use or to sit in. Had pay a extra 5 pound for breakfast which we thought was a bit cheap. It was awful scrambled eggs look like a flyer egg smashed up. Fruit was all blackish looked like they been their all week and the cheapest bread to make your own toast I give the Breakfast 1 out 10.
Great location. Rooms tired and out dated. Great idea to have patio doors leading to garden Although dogs can stay, they are not allowed in dining area, but breakfast can be brought or ordered to eat in own room. Staff very friendly.
Overnight stay while visiting relatives. Some off road parking, but plenty in immediate area too. Walking distance into town, to Hesketh Park and round the block to the 'Imp' for dinner/ a pint. Spacious twin room 7; warm, comfortable beds. Shower attachment over bath a little feeble and the toilet cistern takes a long time to noisily fill,(should be fixable,) but everything you might need was provided. Room 2 single is 'cosy' but functional. The skirting board socket didn't seem to be working, so no safe alternative to boil kettle (other power option was over bed). Didn't manage to find anyone to let them know. Breakfast was fabulous. Everything you might imagine was offered, including a cooked traditional range of food. Wonderful view of the sunken garden at breakfast. As much tea and coffee, toast as you wanted. Nothing was rushed. Lovely, friendly place. The lady hosting breakfast managed several tables with great charm. Would recommend for a good value stopover.
Lovely room, nice big comfy bed, there was a mini fridge with drinks in it you could have for a small price, tea and coffee and a hairdryer was provided, it was a very warm room so had the window open most of the stay which isn't a problem. The only criticism I have is that the bathroom door doesn't close on its own, the shower needed fixing and possibly provide some glasses rather than plastic cups and also not great for disabled people as there are a lot of stairs. Overall I would definitely stay here again, staff were lovely the hotel over all is lovely and the location is fantastic. Definitely value for money.
