Ordered mushroom shawarma, got chicken. That was alright for me who will eat anything, but not for anyone expecting a vegan main. It was very enjoyable, and when asked if everything was okay we didn't raise it as a problem. Sending it back would likely have disrupted an otherwise pleasant evening. The only other negative was the staff who were obviously keen to get finished for the night (they close at 9), not that they hurried us to be on our way. The burger is sooo good! Perfect for a late breakfast or brunch, super satisfying. The cozy atmosphere makes it even better!

Came here on the back of a day shopping to get a slightly early evening meal. Interior looked nicely decorated with a genuinely cosy atmosphere. Server was friendly and attentive though the service itself was a bit slow considering that things did not seem very busy. The food when it arrived was colorful, vibrant, fresh looking and followed up on the visual promises it made with the flavors it provided. Absolutely delicious. Not so great for me was the fact that Bill's is cashless. Check out the smallprint (literally!) on the bottom right hand corner of the front of your menu. As a business decision I always kind of feel this kind of decision is not taken for the benefit of the customer, but so the business can save itself the inconvenience of having to handle cash. Cash is no less convenient for me to carry. Nice food in a nice location, would have scored higher from me if they had not dictated how I choose to pay.

Lovely food! However the 12.5% Service Charge which is awkwardly automatically added to your bill is just greed from corporate at the top who don’t want to pay their employees a proper wage and want to take it from the customers pockets instead I wouldn’t of ate here if i knew this was the case, normalising of tipping culture is getting out of hand in the UK and will ultimately push your customers away to spend their hard earned money elsewhere

Very Dog friendly, with excellent food and helpful attentive staff, overall we had an excellent experience, we even went back for breakfast. The salted caramel sweet was particularly good as was the gluten free chocolate brownie. Bill's is a very good chain well worth a try.

Great place, we actually wanted to try somewhere else (just visiting York for one night and day) but there were queues at other cafes. I had Bill's Big Breakfast (or something like that). It was very good. 2 eggs, nice toast, streaky bacon, 1 sausage (would have preferred 2 but there you go), mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, black pudding. Staff were really good, friendly and quick turnaround, it was maybe half full. We went at 11am, just too early for the brunch menu but we were happy with what we ordered. I had an early grey and a glass of orange juice, both really nice. Would deffo go back to a Bill's to check out more of the menu. Price wise, we got 2 of the larger options to eat and 2 drinks each so was 40 quid which actually we were happy to pay in the centre of York for the quality and speed of the service.

Loved it. We visited Bills on a Sunday morning, we were greeted by the staff and got given a choice of where to sit. The staff were so friendly and when we asked to not have black pudding (does anyone eat that?) The waited told us he's happy to swap it for more bacon or anything else. We didn't expect that as most places remove things but charge full price so we were happy to be given the option to swap. The food was delicious and really well presented. I mean just look at the photo! Well worth the money, great overall experience. The only thing I'd say is I wasn't a fan of sour dough bread, as I found it really tough to cut or eat but other than that its flawless.

Had a lovely brunch here on Sunday. They were very busy so the service was a little slow but we had a friendly welcome. All the food was excellent and delivered hot and tasty. Seeds on the eggs are a nice touch. The toilets were clean, right at the back of the restaurant. No masks in sight but anti bac gel on the tables. The golden latte was pretty but just tastes of warm coconut milk.

Great restaurant! Today, January 30, 2022, we were in a company of 4 people and everyone ordered different dishes. A rare case: in this restaurant we all liked all 4 dishes. We ordered the following dishes: steak with egg and chips, smoked salmon and shrimp pie with mashed potatoes and cheese, chicken skewers and a burger with chips. In my opinion everything was very tasty. I'm quite picky about the quality of food, but I take my hat off to this restaurant. I strongly recommend: go there to eat, you will not regret it. And I also want to say about the work of the staff: beyond praise! Everything was cooked in 15 minutes, different workers were interested in how we liked it, is everything in order with us? We enjoyed dining there very much. Recommend!
