Stayed over for a night in the inn. Room we had was spacious and warm with all the necessary facilities. A lovely meal in restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a really lovely evening and would visit again. The Charles Dickens pictures and memorabilia made it all the more interesting. Just remember if visiting to enter car reg on arrival to avoid parking fines.

Lovely attractive pub/hotel that does very nice food. It's quite pricey but nicely presented and good quality. Looks attractive from the outside with the walls covered in ivy. Also attractive and cozy inside. Well worth the visit. Didn't stay at the hotel so cant comment on the rooms.

We had planned a family walk for last Friday (31st October) but sadly the weather was against us. We phoned The Leather Bottle and explained that we were a group of six adults, two children, an infant and two dogs. To their credit they were really welcoming, very attentive and patient as we set about organising ourselves, deciding drinks and making food selections. As usual, there was a good selection of food available, including a children's menu and the food arrived promptly. They were kind enough to provide water for the dogs and facilities for feeding the baby. It all made for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Many thanks

Excellent pub for lunch or dinner. Food choice small but various. Lovely staff and no long wait. Traditional interior and we felt very comfortable.Extensive seating outside which is nice too!

Food was very average and pricey for what it is. Place is in need of a serious spruce up, the building suits its mainly very elderly clientèle. Limited menu, and expensive drinks. Staff were joking amongst themselves about other customers. Coffee was awful, it was filter coffee but clearly burnt, normally sign of a dirty machine or stale beans. Garden is nice enough but be better without signs everywhere warning about recording your number plate and not staying too long. Really pleasant in a country pub!!

A lovely little pub with a great atmosphere and a wonderful team. We spent a few hours here playing games etc and enjoyed their varied drinks menu and impressive cocktail list. The food left a little to be desired - We had the beef burger, the chicken burger, the vegan burger, the Thai curry, nachos and the steak pie. All were so so apart from the pie and nachos which were delicious. Would come back for drinks and nachos definitely.

Arrived with a party (4 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs), I believe he was the owner who greeted us explained that our table was indoors and its table service which was perfect as it would have been harder to get to the bar (thank you for making that decision, it made it much easier for us). We put the dogs on the inside of the table but it wouldn't have been a problem to have them on the outside, ordered Sunday lunch and asked what the vegetarian option was and the waitress wasn't sure but when she found out it was a nut roast that was a winner for us, beautiful presentation, the cabbage could have been cooked for a bit longer. The larger waitress (don't mean to be rude but didn't get her name) she was absolutely fantastic with the kids, really good waitress with us all too. The bar man was helpful and friendly, a mistake was made with a drink and I jokingly said if its going to waste then I'll have it, ie pay for it but that was a no charge. Thank you :) Keep up the good work, we shall return again soon!

Lovely country pub with lots of history. We ordered sandwiches at lunch time but had to ask if they had a lunch menu as only the main menu was provided. The bread was so stale it was mostly inedible, not what I would expect for £10 a pop. The three staff hanging around at the bar didn't ask how are food was so we felt like we couldn't even say. I ordered a white wine spritz and it arrived filled to the brim with lemonade like some kind of wine cocktail, the waitress laughed at it's ridiculousness and still gave it to me as if I would still want to drink it....which I didn't. We spent nearly £40 on what I can only say was an awful lunch and a waste of money. A really shame as this has been a great pub in the past.
