What a shame... I've been going to the King's Arms aka The KA for 28 years. In those years it's had its ups and downs with various Land Lords and Land Ladies trying to create a great place to eat, drink and meet friends. Recently the KA was taken over by some new custodians and as it was my Birthday, we thought we would go along as a family and sample their Sunday Lunch. We had read some great reviews and everything sounded perfect. Sadly our family outing turned out to be a disaster. Walking through the familar door of the main highstreet in Cleobury, I expected to see a few changes to the Pub I had visited so many times. I had frequented over the many years I have lived in the town. Sadly it looked worse than I have ever seen it, the big old fireplace was full of disguarded crisp packets, the tables and chairs looked uninviting and the place had a bit of a solem feel about it. However we headed towards the bar to advise them we had a table booked and to order some drinks. This is where the doubt set-in. We had to wait to be served for what it felt a millenia, even though the place only had a few people sat having a Sunday Drink. When we were eventually served, we headed outside to sit in the garden only to be offered some old bench tables coverd in moss and filth. We ventured lower down the so called garden to find a cleaner bench near the BBQ only to be presented with a raw sausage resting precariously on the BBQ. We then decided to head to our table for food. Once seated and bearing in mind that we were the only ones eating, that someone may come and offer us a menu. However, this was not the case and spent 15 minutes trying to get the attention of various staff coming and going, mainly to have a cigarette or two outside. Eventually a nice young lad came over and we ordered. The food soon arrived, it looked nice and there were generous portions, but again our dreams were shattered and the food was cold and inedable. To cut a long story short, we asked them to take away the food and we said we would be leaving. We then sat there expecting someone to ask what the problem was and to try and rectify the situation. Eventually the landlady came over to us after some disgruntled words were shared in the kitchen and an apology was provided blaming their chef. All be said, we won't be going there again, and I would advise anyone else to consider other eatieries in the Town and avoid the King's Arms at all costs.

Absolute disaster ! After what was a fun booking experience we arrived for a birthday family meal - only 6 of us - i had to guess which was our table - i then had to go to the bar and ask for menus as no one came to us - i then had to ask someone who was serving to take our order - the people who work there seem to be more interested in going outside for a smoke or to check their phones rather than concentrating on customers - talking of outside - dirty - ashtrays full - left over food by the barbecue - food turned up and meat and potatoes were cold - the only thing that was hot was vegetables which had obviously just come from a microwave - we did not eat the food after complaining it was cold - what was worse we did not get any response from anyone until voicing that no one had come to our table to find out why the food had been returned - we did however because we were so close to the kitchen hear the chef moan about us sending the food back - unfortunately I really cannot see you lasting as a pub/restaurant- EVERYTHING NEEDS TO CHANGE - no attention to customers whatsoever !

Just had a family meal (9 of us) and I have to say the food was second to none, with exceptional service. The beer is pretty damn good too. Well done to Dean, Jo, Charlotte and Ollie and thank you.

We didnt stay but had a few drinks here. The lad behind the bar was very helpful and helped with the history of the church spire. Roaring fire and a lovely atmosphere.

Always a nice choice of real ales, Hobsons best is the best. Friendly staff, it would help if the T.V was on more often. People seem to enjoy eating there..Needs the fire on to improve & enhance ambiance & trade..

Never been here before, beer was good. But the table was so sticky the glass stuck to it. Floor wet with beer. Barman pleasant.

I thought this place had gone down hill, it struck me that everywhere could do with a good clean. The last time I went in about 15 years ago, the place was lovely, superb and expensive steaks. The floorboards in the front were polished and a great feel to the place. The floorboards now look like scaffolding planks, and it could do with a lick of paint and a polish, not a damp rag over wooden tables. The leather settees hadn't been leather nourished and were worn.
