   We had a 2 night stay at Sheriff Lodge for my wife's birthday. A beautifully presented period property maintained to a high standard. Our room was The Warren which was spacious as well as warm and cosy. Breakfast is delicious and very well presented, location is also ideal been literally 10 mins walk from the town. A great place to stay and enjoy the area.

   Conveniently located 5 min walk from the centre of the village of Matlock, Sheriff Lodge is a great choice for a few days in the Peaks. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our clean, spacious and charming room. With 3 windows, an armchair in the bay window, a huge bed and many small details that made it really special. There were chocolates in a dish on the vanity, glasses, mugs and good selection of teas and hot chocolate. Appointed for people exploring the Peak District, there was tray for muddy boots and hooks for wet coats. The room was cosy and warm but just in case there was an extra electric radiator and a blanket. There was a selection of books to read and a large TV if you prefer to watch. In the wardrobe were complimentary slippers and a box full of useful bits such as a shoe horn, sewing kit, toothpaste and sanitary products. You pick a time slot for breakfast so you don't have to wait. With a choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, traditional breakfast, mushrooms and local specialities. A lovely place to stay.

   Recently stayed 3 nights, Very nice B & B, rooms nice size, location good, no issue with Parking, 10 min walk to Matlock town. Host Ziz, very helpful on recommending places to eat and tips and trips to do. A very good breakfast. Thanks again ,highly recommend Sheriff’s Lodge.

   Ziz is the perfect hostess. Ziz cooks a wonderful breakfast & very knowledgeable about the local area. Being a short walk drown to Matlock town with many trendy cafes resturants & bars. Our room was very comfortable & clean. There is a small lounge area & a garden to enjoy. I am sure you will enjoy your stay at Sherriff Lodge & the Matlock area. There is off street parking which is a blessing on some of the narrower streets.

   We had and amazing stay. Everything about Sheriff Lodge is beautiful. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated. The beds are the comfiest that i have ever slept in. That sheets, pillows and duvets are of a very high standard. Ziz the host is amazing and will do anything to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is excellent with locally sourced ingredients and there is a wide variety of foods. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

   Ian and I stayed for a Birthday celebration. It was wonderful as always. I think this was our fifth weekend stay in three years. I believe somebody described staying as like a big warm hug. Aye. That is so.Ziz is kind, considerate and mindful of her guests. Quality never fails. Still my #1 stay in Derbyshire and the benchmark by which we judge all our other staycations. Thank you again Ziz.    A lovely house in a quiet location, yet only 5 minutes walk into town. Breakfast was excellent and the well stocked honesty drinks fridge in the sitting room was a great feature. Ziz is a great host and the room we occupied for 8 nights was spot on. This is now our “go to” place when we visit the Peak District.
