Great to see Itsu back in Edinburgh after a temporary closure. This restaurant is clean, quick and in a great location. Staff are smart, friendly and competent. There are about a half dozen self service tills and you can order at the counter. I always use self service so I can scan calories and costs. I've never seen a broken self service machine. Itsu does healthier food and does it well. Sadly, that means portion sizes are a bit small for me and so I'm on the lookout for a filling side. It might be that I get the delicious 200 calories of their mocha instead, too often. It can get busy, but at predictable times and they do staff up accordingly. As a rule, the food arrives with appropriate haste. Lots of the cold food is ready made and good to go almost immediately. Itsu is ideally placed for anyone trekking out of Waverley and on search for quick but real food.

Didn't expect much as a chain at the front of a big shopping complex but was pleasant surprised at how fresh and well prepared my salmon poke bowl was. It was well dressed and loved that the dressing was on the side and I could control how much to put in. The miso soup was no frills but it was also well seasoned and didn't cheap out/hold back the miso like some places do. I went a little before midday and food took actual seconds as they're all premade. Great option for a convenient, fast and healthy meal !

A different concept and very tasty - dishes are good. They are served in small cardboards. The idea is a to be a fast food kind of. - prices are really good. Portions are also big. - suitable for a 'pit stop' during the day. I would not bring a date there. It can be busy busy too. - toilets available for customers.

Great food, we had some sushi, miso soup with vegetarian dumplings and mango mochi. Everything was delicious and quickly prepared. Prices are good in comparison to regular Asian reataurants. Nice seatings, very spaceful.

I love Itsu, I’ve been to a lot of them but this was by far the worst! Nothing wrong with customer service but the food itself was horrible, I ended up binning it all after eating what I could. They also don’t take cash which is a shame. The broth was really watery and a pink colour, not normal standard. Gutted £15 down the drain

They use disposable tableware even if you dine in, which is not eco-friendly! I tried coconut chicken soup rice but it didn’t taste good.

I love Itsu, I come here pretty often. It’s always very clean, your food is ready quickly (about 1-2 minutes) and the staff are friendly. Toilets are always very clean. Only downside is the seating area is a little bit cramped. If you’re after some hot food in a rush, I’d recommend!

Wonderfully prepared sushi that is quick to pick up after ordering! My favourite from the selection is the spicy tuna roll. Another good selection is the salmon Health and Happiness set. The ordering process is easy, you can use touch screens to navigate between hot and cold sets and pick up your order extremely quickly after. They charge VAT to sit in if you’re ordering food, so sometimes it’s best to just take away. It’s something nice to snack on if you’re in a hurry or somewhere nice to go for a quick meal if you’re with friends. You can sit inside or on the tables outside too. Situated at the entrance of the new St James mall, it’s easy to get to.
