Delicious food and wonderful staff, at a very reasonable price. Lots of variety, too, which made getting one of the chef's sets an exciting surprise with regard to what fish we would get.

Surprisingly good Japanese restaurant in the centre of Bristol β high quality by UK standards. Sashimi Moriawase (16 pcs): Four types of sashimi β salmon, tuna, surf clam, and sweet shrimp. All were quite fresh. The salmon and tuna were thickly sliced, rich, and well-balanced in fat; tuna was firmer with no fishy taste. Surf clam was springy and slightly sweet, and the sweet shrimp were plentiful, soft, and fresh. Atsuyaki Tamago: Although not made with dashi, it was sweet, soft, and fluffy. Spider Roll: Crispy soft-shell crab inside with cucumber to balance the oiliness; topped with creamy avocado, tobiko, and mayonnaise for a satisfying mix of textures. Spicy Salmon Temaki: Slightly different from expectations β sauce was like the usual spicy salmon gunkan, and would be better if the salmon was diced, but still rich and tasty. The wrapping seaweed was a bit tough instead of crispy. Honey Yuzu Tea: A perfect pairing for Japanese food β sweet, tangy, refreshing, and soothing for the throat. There are also some lunch sets, set meals, bento boxes, etc. The choices are very diverse and the prices are relatively affordable, suitable for office workers or those who want to eat quickly.

The sushi in this Japanese restaurant is definitely my favorite recently! The sashimi is so fresh that it seems you can taste the sweetness of the ocean. The salmon belly is rich in fat and the sweet shrimp is soft, glutinous and sweet. It's simply amazing! The chef's craftsmanship and dedication can be felt in every piece of sushi, and the presentation is as exquisite as a work of art. I will repurchase it indefinitely! Ice cream desserts have become a masterpiece! After having sushi, I casually ordered a dessert and was immediately charmed by it! The ice cream and mochi have a smooth and rich texture, with a moderate sweetness that is not greasy. You can also taste the fine nuts. I heard that the ingredients were flown in from Japan. No wonder the taste is so pure. Next time, I'll come here especially for ice cream!

Good Japanese food - sushi, noodles and rice dishes! Really friendly staff too. Great place to go at the start (or during) a night out!

I came here for my girlfriend's birthday. She's very much more into Japanese cuisine than I am and it was my first time trying sushi! The experience was great, we both had a lot of fun and loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very quiet on the Sunday that we came but had a really nice ambience to it. The service was good, and the staff were polite and friendly. There was a mistake made with our food but it was quickly resolved. The food was also good, with my wok fried noodle dish being very tasty. My partner and I shared nigiri which was adequate although the egg and rice was quite moist and had a peculiar taste. I recommend this spot if wanting to try Japanese cuisine.

I booked one of the karaoke rooms in this restaurant for my birthday, and had such a great experience! The food was delicious and the staff were extremely helpful. 12 of us fit comfortably in the room and everyone had a fun time.

Relaxed atmosphere, quick service, good menu. I thoroughly enjoyed a generously sized portion of grilled eel (pictured) served with plentiful rice, and a selection of sashimi fish. No complaints.

Obento was the first Japanese restaurant that I ever ate in, 15 years ago. Upon returning to Bristol I was hesitant to return, based on a few negative reviews. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised when I came for a friendβs party in one of the upstairs karaoke rooms. The staff were professional and attentive, and the food that I had β una don (grilled eel rice), mango fry roll (deep fried fish sushi roll wrapped with mango) and miso soup β was good. Not sure how authentic the mango sushi is but it was still tasty; the unagi was cooked well and had the correct flavour, and the soup hit the spot. The karaoke room was great value β Β£150 for 3 hours of karaoke and Β£150 worth of food and drink. So if you spend Β£150 on food and drink then basically you get the karaoke for free. You could easily fit 10 people in that room, making it very reasonably priced. We had a great time there and Iβd love to return for more karaoke and food.
