Location beautiful, food tasty but nothing extraordinary. Did like the fact we weren't rushed and the waiting staff were very attentive. Restaurant could have been cleaner, we were sitting next to a radiator that looked dusty and in need of a wee wipe down. My knife was dirty, the water bottle was not as clean as it could have been. The room temp was ample but not ambient. I really was expecting more given the reviews I had read before booking.

This is a great spot to stop for a tasty Italian lunch. I had mussels and pizza and my colleagues had soup and pasta arrabbiata. All very delicious.

Lovely food, large portions amd reasonably proced. Excellent table by a window overlooking the park. Waiting staff delightful. When the waitress realised it was my husband's birthday she brought out complimentary ice cream with a candle. It was a very sweet thoughtful gesture.

Everything about this place is just ok. The food is nice but nothing special and the staff simply just do their job with no desire to go the extra mile. The upstairs restaurant feels like a big open and awkward room. Won’t be going again, plenty other restaurants in Edinburgh that have something unique to offer

Food was just ok, cocktails quite basic. We were not expecting much for a quick meal (not the type of food I am going to write a review anyway) but not happy to feel rushed. At the door, they gave us two choices where to sit, with slightly longer dining time downstairs. That was our first time here (and the last for sure!) and we took some time to discuss what to order for sharing. The server was not patient to take our order and that was a bad start. Pasta was bland, overcooked, not al dente and did not taste like freshly homemade anyway. Focaccia not recommended either. Downstairs, tables were placed very close to one another and when the guests at the big table next to us got a bit drunk, there was a commotion and it got so madly noisy in the small, confined, congested space with lots of hard surfaces bouncing sound. We decided to leave early after a lady shouted at us suddenly and we had no clue what happened. No staff was coming to help, not even asked about how we felt about the situation. They server took our money and let us leave. The whole experience was bad enough. Not suitable for family dining with young children.

Went there to have little farewell party with my flat mate. Everything was nice, the food was incredible. U have to make reservation because it is a very crowded restaurant. Enjoy my dinner here and definitely will go there again in the future. I ordered mare rissoto, the portion was huge but i finished it all because it was too tasty.

Fabulous dinner in Morningside which has managed to keep the vibe and quality from the original Haymarket Mia restaurant. Everyone (including 2 teens) loved the food, my Rigatoni alla Nduja was amazing and Tiramisu was light and perfect end to the meal. Spiros was a delight, our time flew by for the all the best reasons. Superb Italian food done right.

Food and service were both outstanding! We had the minestrone and butternut squash soups, tomato focaccia, and the rigatoni alla norma. All were fresh tasting and clearly homemade. Michael and Samuel (our waiters) were both lovely and attentive and definitely added to our dining experience. They even split the pasta into two bowls for us, as we were sharing, which we really appreciated! The only disappointing part was the desserts (tiramisu and cheesecake), which did not live up to the rest of the meal. Overall, the meal was delicious though and we will definitely be back!

By far the best Italian place we have eaten in ages! We came across it by accident, driving down the motor way on route to our hotel, both hungry for food searching the internet. When entering the restaurant we were already positively surprised by the rustic, homely atmosphere. For starters, we had garlic bread with mozzarella, olives, antipasto vegetables and bresola & burrata. Every single dish was as flavoursome as the other. High-quality, pure ingredients and great flavours. For main, we had pizzas. I myself had the rucola, Parma ham and Parmesan cheese pizza. My fiance had the Diavola with extra gorgonzola. Yet again high-quality ingredients. The perfect light and fluffy, yet cripsy pizza crust. And the toppings were added with the right balance of flavour. To full to even think about dessert, we asked if it was an option to take the dessert to go for later on the evening. Ten minutes later we had two take away containers with tiramisu with chocolate sauce and fresh fruit on top. Great value for money, wonderful staff, nice atmosphere. The next time that we will visit Edinburgh (from the Netherlands) we will definetly return to Mia Italian Kitchen!
