Order for delivery, staff were so polite and friendly, delivery was quick and food was perfect, egg fried rice, mini pancake rolls, and salt and chilli chicken balls were delicious, needed after so many horrible takeouts from other places recently
Absolute diabolical phones up fir a meal and chicken rolls to be told the kitchen are not doing chicken rolls just now instead of the truth our chefs useless and we buy in the chicken rolls will never go near this hole again
This is by far the best Chinese in East Kilbride if you ask for a hot curry it is exactly what you expect.. no where else does it the way U want it I have been to few over the world but no where compares to the way this place works they get it spot on every time
Just had an order from The Lantern and had to review as a salute to such a fantastic takeaway. Been using them for over 15 years and for me, they are still EK’s best Chinese. Ordered the spare ribs in BBQ sauce - meat was very well seasoned and cooked, and fell off the bone and the sauce is amazing. Chicken balls were the tastiest and freshest I’ve ever had. They smelled and even looked incredible! Satay sauce was lovely… a bit spicy with crushed peanuts - really was perfect for the chicken balls! King Prawn Kung Po - what can I say… been my go-to order for a few months now and never disappoints. Slightly spicy, garlicky, sweet, sour and salty… loads of king pawns, cashew nuts, pineapple, peppers and onions in there too… can’t beat it!
Ordered a Salt & Chilli Munchy Box between the two of us, it was very spicy and there was so much there we didn't manage to finish the box. The delivery came within seconds of the time we were given. Enjoyed The Lantern.
The food here is fab...use this take away regularly....only 1 complaint Way too much salt on everything I have ordered.I like salt on my food,but the chef really needs to lay off the salt abit. Even my order tonight was so salty it went in the bin...disappointed.
Food was nice, cost time called them and was delivered quick. No issues with chinese food order at all except i asked for a milder curry sauce taste, was almost just water, next time ill stick to the normal curry sauce mix i think.
The quality has really went down hill they need to find a new chef, the rice was good but the curry I ordered was tasteless and had the same consistency as water won't be ordering again
Love the Lantern. Great value, girls always really cheerful and accommodating. The salt & pepper potato balls are amazing and so are the battered salt & pepper chips - but the latter aren’t always available. Make them available every day, please ! Great value, huge portions, fast delivery or collection, and they give free prawn crackers or other little things free, especially when you’re a loyal customer and go a lot. I love the lantern.
Our new local and we've ordered quite a few times and the food was exceptional every time we ordered. Very generous for giving us prawncrackers when we order.. the best Chinese in East kilbride by far. Well done. We will be back lol
