Ordered at 7pm tonight. Received at 9:32! Curry was congealed and tasted like a korma? Prawn crackers were burnt!
Ho Wok... think it used to be 1A Wok... Shocking... made the mistake of calling in here as the ATM next to the usual Chinese takeaway I use was not working and I headed up here next to the Co-op as it was the closest. Had been out for a few beers and was only looking for a Chicken curry, fried rice and prawn crackers. How could you get this simple order so wrong?!?!? The rice was passable but the prawn crackers were terrible... brown and tasteless, while the curry itself was inedible. A layer of onions at the bottom with a layer of clearly pre frozen chicken on top and congealed curry sauce encasing the whole thing. It had clearly never seen the inside of a wok. Flavourless and absolutely disgusting. I really am at a loss how such a simple dish can be served so poorly... Be warned... do not try this place....
Food was incredible! Staff are excellent. Left my jacket with my company name on in. Went out their way to email the the company with detail from my bank card so they could track me down. Can’t recommend or thank them enough ❤️
We moved to the area a year ago and ordered from the first Chinese we saw which was 1A wok. We thought the food was lovely. After being in the village for a while we tried many others but always went back to 1A as they’ve hands down got the best food. We’ve had several guests order from there too and it’s always been great. I don’t understand the bad reviews at all or at least they must be very outdated as it’s not been our experience at all. Would highly recommend.
Ordered from just eat. The chow mein smelled sour like curdled milk and the chicken wings looked like they were plucked from a rotten corpse. Service was fine. Won't be back, regret not reading reviews before ordering.
Absolutely terrible service, ordered a takeaway via just eat, message received saying enjoy your food and hasn't even arrived, phone call made and stated still with driver for delivery. 15mins later still hasn't arrived. Best advice never order from this place again.
Avoid this takeaway. The order wasn’t ready until 80minutes later than the confirmed delivery time and then took another 10 minutes to be delivered to the wrong house. To make matters worse the manager then made the driver refund the order out his own pocket or he’d sack him.
Not great. Thought I would give this place a try for the first time. Watched the cook clean the worktop, pans and put hands in the bin with his rubber gloves. He kept his gloves on and started to prepare my food, food tasted a bit of bleach. I personally will not return to this place.
Literally the best chinese in the area in my opinion. Never had a bad meal out of there. Huge amount of options, polite and helpful staff, waiting time and cost is reasonable.
