Tried this restaurant on a recent trip to Edinburgh, it was close to our hotel. I had fillet steak which was lovely, my partner chose chicken which was sadly dry and so hard round the edges he couldn't eat it. We did complain and got an apology. The restaurant itself was OK, but nothing special, staff were fine. It was mid-week, perhaps the place is better at the weekends but we sadly have no wish to return.

Food is really delicious and service too. However I recommend management to remove all signs or advertisements around with awards, restaurant name etc. as they don’t need to attract people. They already have very good food which will advertise them already.

Went for dinner with my family and everything was exquisite! High quality ingredients, flavorful dishes, and super lovely staff. One of the best Italian restaurants in Edinburgh. Will come back for sure.

The BEST lasagna I have ever had—hands down! This restaurant is small, cozy, and serves absolutely incredible Italian food. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, full of rich flavors and authentic taste. A special shoutout to our server, Alessandra, who was truly one of the sweetest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. Her warmth and kindness made the experience even better. If you're visiting Edinburgh, do yourself a favor and don’t skip out on a meal here. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, you’re in for a delicious treat!

Was here to have birthday celebration but it’s totally ruined by the food quality. Risotto was extremely salty, carbonara was watery and nothing authentic, grill plate was very dry. All dishes have no garnishing and poor presentation. Service was really slow but staff are friendly you may say. Surprise to see 4.3 rating on Google but I will be 100% wouldn’t return!

What an amazing experience! The owner was absolutely awesome and the service was fantastic! Homemade burrata and penne Siciliano and a cappucino= epic delicious dinner. Would absolutely come back if I lived in Edinburgh!!

Tasty food and lovely staff:) The risotto was amazing! And everything with prawns are definitely worth trying they’re all good. Tiramisu a bit too sweet for me but that’s just personal:) it tastes just like those I had in Italy!

I am Italian, the food is delicious, real Italian and good quality. Very good wine. Prices are reasonable, honestly I expected it would be more expensive. Very good service as well, Gianvito is so nice and friendly. Would definitely come back!
