Wonderful meal. Nice presentation. Quiet. You'll probably need a reservation. Had the scallops and the beef Wellington. Wonderful. Actually the best part was the sour dough bread.
Was a little while ago I came here with the better half but I have been meaning to leave a review. We had some of the best food we have ever had right here at Michael’s. Starter, main and desert were all fantastic. Even the bread and homemade butter was perfect. The service and atmosphere were also great and this is a place I highly recommend to people when they travel up to Edinburgh. Scallops and black pudding to start, beef Wellington main and a blood orange cheese cake. I’ve also added photos of the other half’s food however I am unsure what her dishes she had. All in all fantastic food, reasonably priced, would recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Michael's. Food was brilliant and the lunch prices were so reasonable. Staff were very friendly. I will most definitely be back and I would highly recommend giving this place a try.
recommended by a Edinburgh local. the course meals looked nice but as we were not that hungry, four of us ordered 4 starters and two mains to share. All of them tasted quite nice and the wine was also good. ended up ordering two desserts and port wine to pair with. also baby friendly, staff asked if we need high chair and accommodated a comfortable table to fit the buggy.
The reception was most cordial. We had a nice seat by the window. The dishes were tasty and neatly served. We also ordered a delicious Pinot Grigio that paired wonderfully with the food. Including wood pigeon breast as a starter and braised beef shin wellington with potato Tartiflette as main course. Unfortunately the espresso machine was not working properly so the macchiato and cappucino were not as they should be but that was deducted from the bill.
This was a super meal out! Food was simply lovely, service was was fantastic and the wine was great. All in all a fantastic night out, just so good, highly recommended. I'll be back!
Our first visit and can highly recommend, not only for the excellent quality of the food, but the amazing value for money as a set lunch menu, ambiance and service.
It was our first time coming to Michael’s, the waiter guided us what we can eat because we only eat halal and non-alcoholic food. So there were only a few options for us in the menu. While waiting the for our food, they served us with a bread (which has this unique taste, love it!) For starter, we ordered the pan fried scallops (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) For our mains, i ordered a vegetarian dish, beetroot with eggs and my girlfriend ordered seabass with mussels velouté. Both dishes were super delicious! (5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) As for our dessert, we shared a white chocolate and raspberry blondie. It was too sweet for me but my girlfriend enjoyed it! (4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). I would recommend this place, and surely come again! Hopefully they can add a few halal options :)
