The Original Mosque Kitchen is an incredibly convenient spot, located right near the Central Mosque. The fact that the food is guaranteed Halal is a major plus. There's a ready supply of food with plenty of variety, and while the taste is generally just fine, the rates are very reasonable. It's a fantastic, reliable option for a quick, worry-free Halal meal in the area.

A bit of a mixed bag: nut allergy sufferers, take note! The Good: Lovely little place! The inside is lovely, the portions are really big, and the staff are really friendly. The menu has a decent choice, though not everything is available every day. They also do a nice selection of cakes and hot tea. It was our first day in Edinburgh and our first proper stop for food. The kids loved their seekh kebabs and naan. The Bad (and a serious warning): Now for the major downside. I ordered the chicken tikka with rice. In all my born days (and as a South Asian person) I have never heard of almonds in a chicken tikka sauce nor have chicken tikka ever been SWEET. I took one bite and had a full-blown allergic reaction. When I asked, the bloke confirmed the sauce has almond powder in it. So, a massive red flag for anyone with a nut allergy. My friend and daughter also had the chicken tikka, and they said the sauce was far too sweet and they didn't enjoy it. The Okay: The chicken buna on rice was decent enough, but just a heads-up, it's not a proper South Asian buna, so don't expect those classic, deep spices. Verdict: Great for a big portion, but be very careful what you order, especially if you've got allergies. We had a bit of a nightmare, to be honest.

Really nice Pakistani/Indian food with lovely service and great portions; Reasonably priced. Cafe is available upstairs too. Would definitely return and recommend

Delicious, fast, affordable food with friendly staff. Eat outside under the tarp, or inside at one of the very few tables. Today's delicious was lamb bhuna over rice, and lamb biryani. Amount of meat was considerable!! Chicken dishes also abound, as do several vegan selections!! Highly recommended!

What is a good restaurant? Good food and vibe. This restaurant is hidden in the backyard of buildings. It is quite and peaceful. The most important is the good is GREAT and the price is unexpected low. There is another restaurant at the street corner, which is not good as this one.

Piping hot and cheap plates of curry in classic fast food curry style e.g. bhuna and tikka masala. Donβt think some reviewers know what home style curries actually are, but hey, thatβs probably why this place is so popular. They do the British style of curry well, they have variety, and you canβt argue with the price. But naan wasnβt that good, itβs much better in the proper restaurant.

Lovely place with delicious inexpensive food. Ate here twice and will go again if I find myself in Edinburgh again. Huge portions though, you could probably share with a friend

One of the best food I have had in UK with very moderate prices. All in the photos was 8 pounds. They were mouthwateringly delicious and service was also very nice. The place is also very quiet and relaxing. Just loved it! Thank you Edinburgh mosque!

Really sweet staffs and this is where you could taste the real pizzas. We went with 4 people and the bill was 35, reasonable price with decent dishes! The place is also super convenient for students from Edinburgh university. One of my friend come from Milan and he also appraised the quality. I love the spicy olive oil with garlic inside it. Will definitely comeback again.
