I'm loathe to knock a fledgling venture, especially at one of my formerly favourite pubs, but with the excess salt still rankling my palate and the lighting seared into my eyes, here we go anyway. The formerly cosy pub ambience has been spoiled entirely by cheap white bright lighting throughout. It's perplexing that anyone signed this off, especially given the new proprietors run a tastefully decked out restaurant down the road at Iford Manor. An easy fix. More concerning is the professionalism of the management. We had cause to send one starter back to the kitchen and all agreed that 3 of our 4 mains were bordering on inedibly salty. Sensitivity is of course subjective but I'm not at all shy with seasoning at home — I can only conclude these dishes hadn't been seasoned to taste at all during cooking. The kicker however is that when the dishes were collected, we were asked for and gave our feedback as constructively as we could, and the manager confirmed that other tables' full plates we'd seen being sent back to the kitchen during the evening were part of the same "bad batch" of heavily over-salted pies and gravy. It shows exceptionally poor judgment to present the bill in full without comment or apology in the circumstances. It was paid in full and without further complaint, albeit with a firm unspoken resolve not to return until we're confident the ship has been turned around. Do better!

This used to be quite a cosy pub with log fires and comfortable seats. Since it reopened after a period of closure, the atmosphere seems to have changed - no fires, too-bright lights and less comfortable seating with several of high tables, a not very nice more formal dining area and bad music which was too loud. The food was very average, although the staff were extremely nice. Disappointing, I really used to like it here but I’m probably unlikely bother again with much better places around.

The Iford Team Opened the Inn today 5th Dec. Dropped in with friends after our dog walk to a wonderful welcome, great coffees, well kept beers and a cracking community atmosphere. The chips, skinny fries and lamb chips are probably best I have ever had. Good chips always a good sign! I am sure this pub with its open fires, friendly atmosphere (dogs included) will not disappoint whatever you are looking for. Keep up the great work Iford Team we will see you very soon.

A lovely pub and excellent location which seems to be a place where all treks converge on. Great garden and can get a little busy. Check the menu options before buying a drink because some meals come with a free drink. Would recommend to anyone tired and weary in need of a rest after a hard days walking!

Lovely pub in a fantastic location. Staff were really friendly and we had a lovely time. I had the soup and the only vegan main, the portobello mushroom. I brought a giant dog and came in with my friend and his elderly dad. We were all very well looked after.

My wife and I had an early Thursday evening dinner at this very welcoming and attractive village pub. From start to finish the service was second to none. The staff gave us as much of their time as we needed, helping us to navigate the menu and drinks selection. For my main course I opted for rump steak (huge and succulent) and my wife very much enjoyed her bream. Portion sizes extremely generous. Malva and Double Chocolate brownie completed our meal, which we both agreed was one of the best we have enjoyed in a while. Currently there is an offer of 2 courses for £22 on a Wednesday and Thursday - so a great meal for an extremely competitive and very fair price. Our compliments to the chef and thanks to the front-of-house staff for looking after us so well. Needless to say, we would highly recommend this pub. Give it a go!

We booked our table online and that was dealt with very efficiently. I did want the hate the place as my sat nav sent me on possibly the most ridiculous roads, or cart tracks anyway, that bypassed anything with tarmac. We eventually arrived, sat in the car for a few minutes to chill and then went inside. There was a lovely fire burning and although the room was busy it wasn't crowded. Service was impeccable and we made our menu choices and had coffee. The menu wasn't huge but there was a nice mix and particularly decent vegan and vegetarian options. Our food was superb with probably the nicest burger I have ever eaten. We rounded this off with sticky plum pudding - fantastic. Service was wonderful, efficient and polite but not intrusive. A really lovely afternoon - thank you.

Incredible food & ambience! Wow this place is incredible. We are here from London staying at the home wood hotel just 5 mins from the pub. We have have stopped at the pub prior to checking in and we can’t believe the quality of food and service. We will 100% be recommending.

Wonderful old stone country pub in a quaint little village on the outskirts of Bath. Lovely outside seating areas on several different levels, and inside looks great too with a log fire etc. Staff are great as well. Doesn't have much parking but there's loads of room to park on the road. Little bridge and a river right next to it which is very picturesque. Would highly recommend!
