Great pub to relax after paddle boarding. Haven't had food from there but the ice coffee went down a treat.

I came here for Sunday roast with some friends, and the food was delicious — the roast was generous and full of flavour, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I also want to share a personal experience to say how much I appreciate this place as a woman dining out. One person in our group was a man I barely knew, who kept trying to touch my hand, insistently talk to me, and, later at the pub, tried to order exactly the same food as me. When it came time to pay, he was determined to pay for my meal even though he didn’t pay for anyone else’s. I didn’t feel comfortable with this at all, as I barely know him and don’t want to feel indebted to someone acting inappropriately. Thankfully, the staff at the bar were incredibly professional and supportive. When I firmly asked to pay separately, they backed me up completely. Even when the man tried to pay for part of my meal on his phone, the staff stepped in, stood their ground, and ensured I was able to pay for my own meal. I’m so grateful for how the staff handled it discreetly and respectfully. It made me feel safe and respected as a female customer. This place is not only great for food, but also feels like a woman-friendly environment where staff genuinely care about your comfort and boundaries. I highly recommend it — and the Sunday roast is fantastic!

Prime location! Wonderful surroundings. The pub needs work on their food options - in that location it would be good to offer food that is better quality than a school canteen.. fried calamari was delicious but was too little for the price . Same for the prawns. They were tasty though but won’t eat again. £8-9 each

The worst customer service of my life. Man behind the bar verbally abused me. I went with my partner for a Sunday roast today. We ordered 2 beef roasts and water. We saw 3 separate customers complain about their pints being wrong and having them swapped. The couple behind us- one of them had their main and their plate cleared and the other person got their main 40 minutes later. After a 45 minutes wait we asked the waitress about the food, she was very polite and said the kitchen said it will be 2 minutes. After an hour and 10 minutes wait I went to the bar to ask how long the food will be, I was told it’s coming right now. It didn’t. I asked about the possibility of some sort of refund. The young man behind the bar was polite, apologised for the wait and said I could have a refund. He had trouble with the card refund so I waited with him for about 5 minutes. In this time the food came so my food got cold as they couldn’t figure out the refund but he said I’d get the refund so I could go eat and somebody will come to us. The food was fine, the veg and Yorkshire was nice, but the beef was dry and tough. I also had string on my plate(as seen in picture), I’m hoping that it was from the beef and was not removed. The food alone forgetting the service was not worth £17. Nobody came to speak about the refund so we waited at the bar, where a middle aged man was rudely staring at me. When it was my turn he said “I’ll speak to you” abruptly in front of around 7 other customers. Before I spoke he said that I was “rude” and “desperate” that I can’t “ask for food and for a refund” and that I needed to “look around it is busy”- there was a booked party in the inside, the outside was more than half empty and most tables just having drinks. He wouldn’t let me speak, so I just let him shout at me. This was humiliating being shouted at and was very uncomfortable for everyone. I tried explaining that I was told I was going to get a refund and he continued shouting at me saying that “this is a lesson” and whilst he was serving other customers and I was crying to my partner he kept shouting that I was “rude” and that I needed to “learn”. The young man looked terrified of this middle aged man but did agree with me that I was not being rude. The young waitresses were lovely and came to apologise for this man’s behaviour after. Unfortunately they said that this is a common occurrence. I understand he was stressed due to the number of complaints but the manner that he attacked me was belittling and horrible. I understand this has been escalated to the manager and I hope if they have any doubts on this situation to please watch the bar CCTV.

Lovely pub with big garden and lots of tables. Home cooked food and the landlord is friendly. Beautiful spot on the river to watch the boats go by. We were really surprised how quiet it was when we visited. Prices very good so we will definitely be back.

Lovely little spot for somewhere to visit with your doggie or family/friends. Staff are really nice and friendly. Wide range of menu choices. I had a daily special and it was so nice. We sat by a lovely fireplace and the manager made sure it kept going along with our drinks :) will be back to try the pudding options and cheeseboard. Thank you for a lovely tea out with my friend.

At the end of a single track road from Saltford village, lovely waterside location next to a weir and lock gate on the Avon River. Views are amazing, a really nice place if the weather is good in the evening. Free parking which you have to validate in the pub or just pay for parking if swimming, cycling or paddle boarding nearby.

We stopped of a bite to eat today, food was very good and lots of it and good price. The only let down was the, condition of the premises, some places need a good clean we sat in the conservatory the window we're dirty looking out and window seals need a wipe and floor needs a good mop bits of food left on the floor from yesterday But however nice view of the river Avon

Very nice local pub with a spacious garden. Staff is very quick and speedy and super kind. Good selection of local beers, and an additional bar if you prefer cocktails. The food is very good too - I especially liked vegetable samosas as a starter.
