Took the family for a pre Christmas meal. Used to visit the Upton many years ago. First time return for a long time. Wasn’t disappointed. Staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Food was delicious and served quickly. Lovely atmosphere. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

We were lucky enough to enjoy The Upton 'Captain's Table' game night 6 course taster evening dinner as part of a small group of 12. The whole event was nothing short of superb. Beautiful surroundings, excellent service, and wonderful food. Really good value too. It's clear how much effort Julian and the team have put into creating a special atmosphere and a memorable experience. We are from Yorkshire and visiting family for the weekend. I so wish we lived nearer so we could come to The Upton more often! Very highly recommended.

Ate Sunday lunch here today. Absolutely lovely. The lamb was superb and the nut roast was one of the best I’ve tasted. The veg were cooked to perfection and the red cabbage was delicious. Very good service and the live piano was delightful. I cannot fault anything. Will definitely eat here again.

Amazing food and environment. People are super friendly and I like how much effort the owner puts into making this space so cosy and welcoming. We will be here again for sure, especially when they’ve got so many special evening events here!

Lovely pub tucked out of the way. Very quiet which was strange when I attended on a Saturday night. Went for the Chicken Tandoori Burger.... Wow if you like a curry and burgers this is a thing of beauty. A lovely burger with great flavour, seasoning and garnishes (5/5). Couldn't fault it. Sticky Toffee on the other hand lacked toffee flavour and was bland and was just a basic sponge (2/5).

We popped in for lunch today(Saturday). Lovely pub, very pretty. We ordered food for 4 adults and 1 child, ranging from burgers to fishcakes and a child's pizza and all were yummy! The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. Overall a fantastic visit. Will be visiting again.

Went here for lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised. We sat outside on the Patio at the front which was in the sunshine. The table was clean and comfortable. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. The menu was excellent, plenty of variation's all of them appealing plus three different specials (main and some additional starters). Deciding what to have was the hardest part. Eventually my sister chose the Chicken Shawarma Salad with warmed Middle Eastern Chicken Breast, Quinoa Tabbouleh, Pickled Red Cabbage, Beetroot and Cumin Hummus, Mint Raita and Flatbread at £15.50 which looked fantastic and she tells me, tasted excellent. She struggled to finish but it tasted too good to leave. I went for the Spicy Chickpea and Nut Burger with Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato and Mayonnaise topped with Onion Marmalade in a Ciabatta Bun plus Fries and House Slaw £15.00. This was a great choice, tasty, filling and very healthy. We had a soda and lime plus a pot of Tea. Total Bill £35.60. A great Pub, great Food, Great Service. Whats not to like. The down side? It's a bit difficult to get to. The lane leading up to the pub is narrow and passing spots are limited. But worth the effort.
