The food is okay. It's not bad, but it's not the best I've had. For the price, it should be better. The coffee was a large cigar, but it seemed like instant coffee. The service is friendly.
Honestly, I have no idea why people have given so bad reviews. This place is a gem. Early morning, amazing chai late, great Scottish breakfast, and the coziest atmosphere
We had a wonderful experience here for lunch. The staff was so lovely! You could tell it was important to them that we were happy with everything and we were. The food was delicious! My husband had the fish and chips and said they were right up there for some of the best and my house salad was so full of ingredients I could barely eat all of it. We would highly recommend:)
Honestly the worst food I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served. Myself and my partner stopped off here during a quick trip to the city, looked nice from the outside was close and we were hungry. Menu seemed fine. I went for the Haggis, Neeps & Tatties. It was slop. The potatoes were lumpy and watery, not taste to them at all. The turnips weren’t cooked long enough and like biting into a tough substance and the haggis was burnt and honestly made me gag as I took a bite. The gravy as you can see in the photo was slop. Tasted like 3 day old bisto reheated. I’m not a picky eater by any means, but even this was too much for me. Couldn’t stomach it at all. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.
A nice, cozy, intimate little spot to eat with a full bar and good food. My daughter, a Mac & cheese connoisseur, really loved how creamy her dish was. My son ordered a pizza with ham, mushroom, and pineapple (don't judge) toppings. My partner ordered the Highlander burger with haggis. Me? I went with their house pasta and it was delightful with my cider. It's a convenient spot at one end of Grassmarket.
Been here to have a breakfast while we visited Edinburgh. Neat and clean, well decorated. Inside and outside seating areas. Price is medium range and food quality is good. I only didn’t impressed with the selection of chair cover’s colour.
Had fish-n-chips (battered haddock) and my wife had bangers-n-mash. We were treated well, politely served, and enjoyed our outdoor seating and view of the haymarket.
This was a wonderful Bistro with great food and service. It was a really busy day in Edinburg during the Fringe Festival and they kept things moving quickly and efficiently while still providing great food and service. Our waiter was interesting and helpfully described Haggis well enough that I was quite happy with it when it arrived.
Lovely place, the host and his team were very friendly. The food is also pretty good. On a clear day, it's a great spot to have a drink with friends.
