   I visited on 28 December 2025. The pub was busy but I managed to find a table as I planned to eat there. Having looked at the menu online before I arrived, I knew exactly what I wanted to order. Despite my best efforts to attract the attention of the single waitress who was working at that time, no one took my order for over 25 minutes. The waitress did not even seem to be looking around to see if anyone needed anything. When I eventually got her attention, there was no apology or explanation for the wait. I placed my order and waited another 20 minutes for my food to arrive. As there were no condiments on the table, I asked for salt and pepper. She went off and came back 5 minutes later telling me that all the salts were being used but that she would be back in a few minutes with some for me. She never returned to my table or even looked in my direction for the duration of my meal. So no salt for me. I counted 38 covers for this one waitress which is just ridiculous, she clearly couldn’t cope with that many people. Whilst I appreciate she was short handed and there needed to be more waiting staff, she was not lying attention to customers and I overheard people at a couple of tables complaining about the lack of attention from her and the long wait time. The food was nice, but I won’t be visiting again. Poor service won’t bring me back there. Shame, as it seemed like a nice enough bar. 30/12/25 - Re the sarcastic response I received from ‘mgmt’ -It appears from your reviews that your staff are ‘decimated’ by flu on a regular basis given the amount of reviews that have complained about long waiting times. And you haven’t even acknowledged my being studiously ignored by the one waitress you had on shift. Or why wait times weren’t communicated to customers. Sounds like ‘mgmt’ aren’t doing a very good job and don’t seem to care that they’re not doing a good job. And to be clear (as I was in my first iteration), I will definitely NOT be visiting again when ‘mgmt’ are so belligerent. Would you like me to recommend any customer service training courses to you as you are clearly in dire need of them?

   Lovely atmosphere! Exceptional service from the staff, waitress were so nice and gentle;). We ordered sausage and mash and it was very good .Absolutely racomended:)

   Get your self down here, great bar live music and tonight the most most miserable barman in the city. Despite the T-shirt beard and glasses he’s having a terrible day and wants YOU to have one also. A real shame, after all the customers with their own woes HE wants to share his !!! Tut tut

   We had such a great experience here! We were served by Lulu who was absolutely fantastic — so friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She really bent over backwards to look into things for us ( I’m picky with wine) and make sure we were happy. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Also the spice bag was yummy according to my partner who smashed it

   We ordered the fish and chips, loaded steak taters, bangers & mash, and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, all well prepared and satisfying. The beer selection was solid, and the staff recommended Caorunn gin, a Scottish option that was smooth and enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a great spot for classic pub fare.

   Perfect bar to have fun. There were lots of people from Wales when we were in Scotland because of rugby and they were super fun and friendly. we had lots of nice conversation with everyone and we enjoyed the night

   Very glad we stopped here today! Our group all agreed the fish and chips were really good. Fish was excellent and fried perfectly. I have to mention the mashed peas, these tasted garden fresh. Service here was very good as well. #gocollette

   Great atmosphere, friendly staff. A little dinghy but it's a pub, after all. Food was good, drinks excellent. Live music while we were there. Outside seating available. Excellent location.

   Amazing food - amazing service. I felt at home when the bartender noticed I was drinking a boring coffee and bailey's and offered to make me a real Irish coffee. It was the BEST coffee drink I've had - ever. It was beautifully crafted. I ordered the sausage roll and I wish I had ordered one more to go! Can't wait to go back again!
