Went to the merchant for a few drinks VBL’s with a mate. VBLs were very nice however the highlight of the night was meeting Archie on the doors. Absolute legend will be back soon
Value for money. Had low expectations as it’s a sports bar but that was exceeded for what we paid, came for a christmas lunch as the cheapest place to make accessible for our charity volunteers and it fulfilled that desire, great xtra discounts and VERY helpful staff prior the booking with our (annoying) complications/ order as well as in person super kind and friendly the red hair girl was fabulous 5 stars to her. The desserts were so cute and vegan burger i was so pleased with, i like that there was loads of gravy to go round the table. Santa hats were a great touch luv it :-)
A fun afternoon spent watching the Scotland v NZ rugby, the pub was super busy and we were lucky to get a table. The atmosphere was great, the food was average pub grub, Staff were rushed off their feet but kept smiling; all in all it was a nice place to watch the game out of the rain.
Somewhat understaffed, tables left uncleared, bar service slow even when quiet. Food took over half an hour, even though it was quiet. When the food arrived it was a bit average, overcooked, not worth the price. That being said, it’s a nice atmosphere. Not a bad place for a drink, but I’d eat somewhere else next time.
Visited this pub last week with friends. Excellent atmosphere even on a Sunday! The staff were all excellent in particular Eilidh who took the time to recommend a new drink and rum, which were so good! Will definitely be back!
Decent veggie options & generous portion sizes, super affordable prices for being in the city centre. Drinks were also definitely value for money & had impressive selection of spirits on the bar. Friendly service & sound staff, Grant & Gvidas were great. Look forward to visiting again when back in Glasgow :)
Went here a few nights ago with my children. Before getting a table, we asked about their family policy and they indicated that they were fine with children as long as food was ordered. After ordering food and staying a short period, we were rudely approached by a staff member indicating that we needed to order mains for the children to be permitted, and then we were scolded for not reading the sign upon entering. We left shortly after that terse interaction and reviewed the sign again, it said nothing about needing to order mains. Disappointed that after a fairly nice time here a staff member decided to ruin the experience by being abrupt, and not understanding their own rules.
