It's like a little dose of the Scottish Highlands just a few miles from Edinburgh. Pentland hills on the doorstep then back to relax in the hot tub or in front of the log burner. Great to escape from it all for a few days, exactly what we were after. Thank you
Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of the Pentland Hills. Wonderful place for a wee get together and escape from the hussle and bustle. Yurt sauna and cold plunge superb.
We rent one of the cottages out every year for Christmas and it’s always an incredibly relaxing time for my family and I. The remodelled rooms (old farm buildings) are very tastefully done and showcase photography from the surrounding country side. The walks are phenomenal and the views in the surrounding farm hills are great for self reflecting walks. During our last attendance it snowed and the staff set out sleds for our kids to use before we even woke up in the morning! The location is fairly isolated and you do need your own transportation to come and go, as there is no public transport for the area, but they make this clear on the website. There is also plenty of kitchen equipment and utensils available to cook your own food and a Tesco is just 15 minutes away in town if you need groceries. Love this place and can’t wait to go again next Christmas!
We brought our children to stay at Byre cottage after staying at Woodshed for our honeymoon 6 years ago. We’d wholeheartedly recommend both accommodations. Eastside is located in such a beautiful setting: the Kips and sprawling landscapes that you could stare at for hours. Both had perfect facilities and amenities for 2 very different stays. We couldn’t recommend this venue highly enough.
This was my second time staying at Eastside and I’ll be returning for a third! The accommodation (Cartshed this time) is beautifully designed and has all you need for a comfortable stay plus thoughtful touches like the rucksack with flask for walks. Location is peaceful and walks from the door, but easy to get to Edinburgh and the coast. Be prepared for the bumpy track to reach the farm but plenty of wildlife to spot on the way
we went in to Edinburgh on both days as it was such an easy trip in the car, coming back to the Woodshed in the afternoon gave us such a peaceful place to chill out !
We stayed two nights in frosty December. Very welcoming hosts, comfortable warm accommodation. Wood-fired sauna was the icing on the cake
The most perfect honeymoon (or any form of holiday) spot imaginable. Cosy, comfortable, remote, (but not TOO remote for convenience) and everything is finished at a standard which has to be experienced to be believed. And enjoy the not-slow-at-all Wi-Fi! Trust me. Just go.
Wow what a wonderful place to stay. You could not get a better location. 10 miles from Edinburgh but in the heart of the Pentland Hills on a working sheep farm. Having driven off the main road for a mile up the farm track into a hidden valley it feels that you have escaped the world. The cottage is lovely and warm and cosey and so homely. Susan and Ali are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We are now working out when we ca get back for our next visit. Couldn't recommend highly enough
We stayed here for our wedding in July 2017. Was the perfect place to stay in the run up to the big day and for a few days after. A whole bunch of our friends stayed in the cottages at the same time with us and it was great. An ideal place for large groups to relax. The weather was super foggy over the weekend, but it didn't make a difference at all. The cottages themselves are beautiful.
