The view of the castle from this point is amazing and it’s kinda quite besides the TikTok kids. The wall itself is a nice bit of history, we didn’t know it was here and was a nice surprise.

Intresting historical place. Today most people come here for the view of the Castle. The steps on the way up here are very popular for photography and you can often see newly married people getting their photos raken here. Take a look through the "hole" in the wall.

Not sure what the historical significance of the wall is, but you have a great view of the Edinburgh castle along this stretch of road.

To get to this section of the Flodden Wall, you need to climb to the top of the Vennel stairs. It is famous as it was supposed to protect the city from the English invasions (that never happened). You can still see the old arrow slits and a notation of an old window frame built in1875. It is also attached to the Telfer Wall at the corner. This is also a famous spot for taking photos of the Edinburgh Castle at night.

Going to grass market through Vennel street took us to this landmark. Continue this way to the vennel viewpoint for a beautiful view of Edinburgh castle

The Flodden Wall began at the south side of the castle, running south across the west end of the Grassmarket, where the West Port was located, and continued uphill along the Vennel. A watch-tower or bastion survives at this, the south-west extent of the wall. It then ran east, wrapping around Greyfriars Kirkyard, to the Bristo Port and the Potterow Port, both located in the vicinity of the National Museum of Scotland. Now, you can visit it in the Greyfriars Kirkyard.

Nice view of the castle, but not much to see, as it’s just a wall...

Decent wee corner of Edinburgh, where you can see the castle and the corner where the Telford and Flodden walls meet. Also, the school where Jean Brodie taught is along the vennel. Makes a nice route to/from the Grassmarket to Chalmers street and the university sector.

Part of the city's old town walls, this section is in one of Edinburgh's most picturesque locations, the Vennel near Grass Market, overlooking the Castle

Not the only place in town where you can see vestiges of the original Flodden Wall, but without a doubt the most picturesque. I work a few blocks away and make it a habit to walk up the steps every now and again, just to remind myself how beautiful a view it is.
