The service and location to the Christmas markets was AMAZING, the staff were the nicest, the good in the restaurant was INCREDIBLE.....but......we had a beautiful suite and it smelled really musty and damp, the bath didn't work properly which I was very disappointed about as it was the main reason I booked the room was for the big stand alone bath! And also the bed wasn't very comfortable, definitely needs a new mattress. However the food and service absolutely outshined the small issues we had with the room, and management did communicate an apology!

Lovely weekend break away. Food was great. The breakfast was lovely and staff so friendly and welcoming. Location was great and only a 15 minute walk into the town centre. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here after finding it online. Car park for visitors. Perfect for popping on a bus into Bath city centre. Room was cosy and beautifully clean and modern. The bar downstairs had games to play and was busy in the evening, making the atmosphere fun. Would definitely visit again. Enjoyed our stay.

The home made pie was very nice, but the side of mash, served in a ramekin (why) was a bit dry. The fish and chips appeared oven cooked, not deep fried. The overall price was reasonable and the surroundings ok.

Stayed here a couple of times now. Fantastic service from the moment you arrive. Lovely rooms, great pub downstairs with entertainment, good food/drink selection and loads of board games you can take up to your room. Only a 15 min walk into the centre or a 5min taxi ride. Staff were fantastic. Will 100% stay again if we are back in the area.

First time visiting the Bear Inn. Small car park to rear, room for about a dozen cars, we were lucky, taking the last space. My daughter had booked a table for 6,:30pm on a Friday. Rugby was on (Bath, losing heavily), at least 6 tv screens dotted throughout but very low volume so not at all intrusive. Really good atmosphere, Good mix of diners and eaters. Table service was prompt and staff very polite and friendly. Didn't have to wait long before drinks order was taken. Good selection of food and of a surprisingly high quality for pub grub. Again, service was prompt. Prices what you have come to expect post covid and inflation etc. Was even presented with a complimentary pudding with ice cream and a candle (it was my birthday) really nice touch. Would highly recommend and will be returning again soon.

Very beautiful and comfortable rooms, luxury furnishings and classy touches such as stocked fridge with water, milk, biscuits. Both shower and bath. Wouldnt expect this stylish environment above a pub restaurant! No disturbance from noise at all. Free on site parking. Delicious full English breakfast, great portions, faultless service, helpful, accommodating, professional staff. Highly recommended and we will definitely go back. Loved it!

Decent, simple hotel above a decent pub. Rooms are basic but nicely designed. A little road noise at night but not too bad. The restaurant is cosy and stylish, and the staff are friendly, efficient and make you feel welcome. Smashing Full English!

Christmas Dinner. Wonderful, relaxed atmosphere and felt welcomed on Christmas day. The food was exceptional, all courses was well cooked and baked cod was divine. Both my husband and mother enjoyed themselves. Highly recommend eating here.

Didn't have a room here, but we called in for food one evening. We both had the fish and chips and very much enjoyed them. Staff were friendly and helpful even though they were getting ready for THE football game aswell as Christmas bookings.
