We went for a christmas meal today 10 of us-although the good was excellant/definitely first class?,there was a 10-15minute wait between each meal. I.e. starter mains and dessert. Also the toast potatoes were too roasted And we're like concrete other than that it was a great event..friendly staff pleasant surroundings good beer.

I'll be honest with you, I had a burger here and it was top 5 best burgers I've ever had in my life. Need to come back to make sure it wasnt a fluke. Will be back soon. Definitely recommended. Been thinking about it a lot. I went to another pub and had a burger there but all I kept thinking about was the burger from the Horseshoe. I'm in bed thinking about it now. Ridiculous.

We call it 'Ronseal' this pub does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a good pub, the food is decent for the money, the service is good, and the choice is great actually. There are better pubs in the world, but this place is consistently good, you won't be disapointed, they deliver on what they offer.

We use the horseshoe on a regular basis, I don’t think you could find a pub with more friendly staff anywhere, the girls and guys always greet you with a friendly smile. We have eaten there a good few times and the food is very good and brilliant value for money with 2 main meals for £15.49! If you have a dog as we have it will be spoilt with treats for sure and made as welcome as you. All in All a really nice pub with a friendly atmosphere and where nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Sirloin full of gristle could only eat half. Jacket potato microwaved. Rump steak was much easier to eat. Fried frozen onion rings only two tiny ones on the plate the grilled tomato wasn’t grilled just a tiny bit browned and hard. Ok for a boozer and in a great location for us but I’d have to be terribly desperate to eat there again. No one inquired if everything was ok. Oh, forgot to add they were very generous with the rocket which neither of us like and I asked the waitress/bartender specifically to omit the rocket but at least they omitted the usual slimy mushroom. The last photo shows the detritus from the sirloin. They pub was packed on Tuesday night because it was quiz night. We were there to eat a decent dinner, not for amusement. Sad it’s such a perfect location for a decent restaurant but this one isn’t decent.

Dirty cutlery, frozen pots on Xmas Dinner and no atmosphere at all. Even Xmas music would have made it better. Ice cream was nice tho!!

Lived locally and visited this pub throughout my childhood but have only recently began to frequent since joining the poker league each Wednesday. The Horseshoe is a staple of the Downend high street and the local community as a whole which has continued to strive and develop as many other local pubs have shut down.. A lovely welcoming environment with friendly staff and a high standard of presentation without feeling too far from a place you could call your local. A nice selection of drinks available from breweries local and afar, a number of wallet and tastebud friendly pints, superb quality food for the price. Make sure you frequent this place to keep it around!

This has become a firm local favourite for us since moving to the area a short while ago. Friendly service coupled with enjoyable, hot food at affordable prices. Good drinks selection too.
