Called in for late lunch, very accomodating lovely staff. Building of great character, service fantastic. All 4 of us said 'we would return tomorrow', its that good, we will return soon. Hope they put in a creamflow beer.

Visited on a wet September weekday with my wife for a late lunch, so we sat inside rather than outside overlooking the river. We were quickly attended to by the cheerful waitress. There was a selection of four hand-pulled real ales. The menu selection was good. The meals came quickly. I had the pie of the day (chicken, bacon and sweetcorn) with chips, gravy, broccoli and green beans. Pie pastry was very good. My wife had two starters as a main: potato and leek soup and vegetable spring rolls. The soup was 'gloopy' and the spring rolls were so thin it was hard to detect the vegetables. Overall the experience was good.

Visited on a really hot bank holiday day and managed to get a seat outside by the river. The staff were working tirelessly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was worth the wait and we will return no matter what the season because the inside was gorgeous too.

Had a lovely roast this afternoon. I had pork and my husband had beef. It was delicious. Could have done with a little more gravy because it was so yummy. We ate outside by the river. There was an absolutely amazing singer on too. (Rhiannon Paige!) The summer vibes were absolutely spot on.

We ordered roast 5 minutes before food stopped. I'm guessing we got the scraps. Inedible, veg was rock hard and tasted dodgy. Both bits of meat were horrible. And nobody asked if it was OK when they took our almost-full plates away. The service other than that was friendly and helpful and they served a good pint and helped us with high-chairs. Wouldn't eat there again but a lovely location and hopefully just a one-off.

Had an amazing meal there last night (March 2023) Delicious pub food and well kept beers. Extremely attentive and friendly service. We will definitely be back. The beer garden with views of the river and bridge will be fabulous in spring!

Visiting here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Had a lovely lunchtime meal in the pub with excellent food. Couldn't fault the very attentive service. Dog friendly and even supplied a little treat for him. Would certainly recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch last Sunday, first time eating here with the new owners. The service was initially good and all the staff were friendly. The food we had (roast beef ) was lovely however we were only served a very small portion of cabbage and peas with the dinner. When we asked about the advertised braised red cabbage and cauliflower cheese we were told that they had run out, no alternative was offered. We asked for and were given a larger portion of the cabbage and peas. Our table was booked for 3 pm and I understand bookings are taken till 430 for the Sunday roast. I could see the restaurant was very busy however I don't think its good enough to not cater for the whole afternoon. The prices are a bit high which I don't mind paying for good food but I think the chef should ensure everyone has the same meal. When we had finished I did say to the server that we enjoyed everything we had but we were disappointed not to have all the vegetables. After that no one came back to us with the dessert menu or to see if we wanted any more drinks which seemed odd.

Have been very disappointed with my visit to The Boat Inn. The food is extremely overpriced for what was served, you're better off saving your money and getting a bag of crisps. I had the trio of meat roast...unless you want to be chewing on fat the whole day or on beef that's more like jerky I wouldn't get it. The veg was raw. My partner had the cod and chips: the fish was over half batter and the chips were half scraps. Definitely would avoid for food. There's also no parking, have to look for a spare place in residential.

Amazing Sunday lunch! Pub was busy so would imagine it may be worth booking in future. Sunday lunches were really good and cooked well. Good choice of meats and all came with a good variety of vegetables and cauliflower cheese . Staff were friendly and there were lots of them so everything was kept clean and tidy. We will definitely visit again
