I’m disappointed with my recent experience at N7. After choosing my products, I asked an employee where I could pay. She responded coldly and didn’t provide any help, nor did she mention anything about discounts or how to use them. I ended up paying at the self-checkout, and only realised from the receipt afterward that there was a discount I didn’t get to use. When I asked about it, I was told the discount could only be applied next time, but why should I have to come back and buy again just to use a discount I should’ve been able to use this time? I later asked another employee, and her attitude was much better. Also, I thought that normally, foundation testing should be assisted by the counter staff, helping customers with shade matching or applying it on the face. However, she just handed me the product and walked away, leaving me to handle it on my own with no assistance or professional service provided.

I recently visited the Clinique counter in Boots at the St James Centre with my sister, and we received the most amazing customer service from Stacie, the Clinique counter manager. Earlier that day, I had been to the Princes Street store to get a last-minute gift for my mum's birthday the next day and had accidentally picked up and paid for an empty show box in my hurry. I later realised my error and as that store had already closed, we quickly went to the St James Centre, where Stacie kindly helped us resolve the issue. She was so understanding and offered a replacement, along with another lovely gift for my mum, which she absolutely loved! Stacie was genuinely kind, patient, and went above and beyond to make sure we left happy. I can’t thank her enough for her outstanding service!

I had a very disappointing experience in this store. I went in to buy a toothbrush and mouthwash and other stuff, both of which were marked as half price on the shelf. However, at the till I was charged full price. When I asked the covered lady at the checkout to cancel the items, she seemed irritated. I went back to check the shelf labels and confirmed that I was correct about the price. I then returned and asked again. The same staff member came with me to check, and afterwards took me to the pharmaceutical counter to ask a young man for help. Eventually they adjusted the price, but with visible irritation. What shocked me most was the lack of apology or acknowledgement. When I pointed out that other customers might also be overcharged, I asked the young man in the pharmaceutical department if he could pass this on to his manager. He just said “yes” and continued to look at us with an unpleasant expression. There was no “sorry,” no appreciation that I had raised a valid concern, only the feeling that I had done something wrong. This experience left me feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Not only was I nearly double charged, but the poor attitude of the staff made the situation much worse. I will not be returning to this store, and possibly not to Boots at all.

As a regular shopper at this St James Centre Boots, I almost always have someone ask me if I need any help when browsing the makeup section, which I almost always decline due to being in a rush or not wanting to be pushed into buying something I didn’t really need. Today was different, I was greeted by the wonderful Stephen, he made eye contact and simply asked me if I needed any advice on anything. Which I actually did! Not only was he open, honest and made me feel like he was personally guiding me to products that would work for me, but he gave me options within my price range and had such genuine warmth that made me really value his opinion. He gave me a solid 10 minutes of his time today which after such a long day at work, really made me feel seen and heard. I went to find a product we spoke about when there were two options… suddenly I found myself chasing him around the store unable to make decisions for myself anymore, he was of course busy helping some other guests but I rudely interrupted him, “Sorry, Stephen, which one?” As I held up both products and he said “the left one, I use the darker colour, but the lighter one would be good for you.” Even in the busiest moment, he stopped to give me advice. What a gem. I’m Not writing this review to say that all team members at Boots, should drop what they are doing to look after you as a customer, I’m just relaying my experience today. Retail is a tough career, especially when you work in beauty and there are so many options & opinions. So I just wanted to say a big shout out to Stephen because his fantastic communication style mixed with his clear product knowledge and customer service today, went above and beyond. He should absolutely be on the learning and development team at Boots head office. Then perhaps everyone would walk out of there feeling more confident and beautiful then when they walked in. Which is all you can hope for when you walk into a Boots.

The clerk has a good service attitude, and the location is at the bottom of the mall, so it's easy to find.

Bought high-end aftershave (Tom Ford) only to be handed it straight from the shelf - no packaging, no offer of a bag, nothing at all. Very disappointing customer service - why would I go back?? Simple answer….I wouldn’t.

Went to buy a £100 electric shaver. I was directed to the locked cupboard where they were displayed by a helpful assistant who guided me right across the store. She returned to her duties and I was left to choose a shaver. I selected one and went to get help to get it out of the cabinet There was no one around anywhere and no help point to be seen. Hung around for a awhile but still no one about. I'll shop online for my shaver. Don't bother opening your doors for me.

I went to Nars section and a beautiful lady called Elsie came to help I originally asked for a concealer my shade, I struggle with finding the perfect concealer and Elsie was soo helpful about it, she tried multiple concealers and helped me find my concealer shade. Elsie was supper honest with all the products she thinks would fit well on me she tried multiple products on me. I’m so grateful for Elsie, I usually have social anxiety and find it hard to speak to people, Elsie was so sweet and kept offering to try different products and spoke for what’s in my head. I usually am shy to ask to use this or that product but I love that she kept recommending different products. My skin feels super smooth and I feel beautiful and confident and thats all thanks to Elsie. I bought all the products Elsie tried on my face I left the store super happy and super grateful for Elsie, I cannot describe how appreciative I am for Elsie. She was super patient with me!!! She gave me so much advice on how to apply my make up and all the different brands she uses herself which she had on her face. Thank you!
