Be careful when shopping here and ask for a receipt. It has happened to me on multiple occasions that I was overcharged at the till. At first I thought it was an accident, but if accidents like these happen regularly at the same place it becomes suspicious.

Been regular users of the Broughton St store for 3 years now. Great range of products at fair prices. Most of their nuts, grains, seeds, spices, dried fruit etc are available in lower priced 'essentials' or more premium 'organic' packs - nice to have the choice. Helpful staff in our experience. If there are a couple of people waiting to check out then a second till opens right away. Highly recommended.

The range of foods is absolutely amazing, but there's a slight issue with customer service at the tills. My experience at the Tollcross store a couple months ago was strange - nobody else in the store and everything was scanned in a rush, no help with packing, and they seemed bothered by me asking if they did student discount and asking for my receipt after they chucked it in the bin. Broughton is a bit better... a little less claustrophobic, but almost the exact same experience at the tills - again nobody behind me, and as soon as the transaction is done my receipt goes in the bin, and once they did that they walked away so I didn't know if I got a discount (according to their sign, it's 25% off bread after 6pm). I don't know if it's policy, or an assumption that customers don't want their receipt, but I prefer to go down the route of saying yes please or no thank you to a receipt instead of ensuring I intervene in the 0.5 seconds between payment and bin.

I have visited Whole Food/ Health Food shops all over USA and UK and this place is one of my favorites. It is beautifully stocked and organized and has the most amazing eco conscious and organic products. Always a destination when I visit Edinburgh. We need shops like this is every town and city all over the world.

My favourite whole food shop in Edinburgh. You can find everything you need here, such as grains, nuts, sauce, jam, pasta, noodles, snacks to vitamins. The list goes on! Loads of products you canβt find elsewhere. Price is on the high side but it is worth it! 5 minutes walk from St James Quarter.

I used to love this shop, but you can wait for new veggies even more than 4 days. Same thing for the fridge. it doesn't get refurbished more than once a week. It's unacceptable.

I have mixed feelings. ItΒ΄s a nice shop with great variety of products, and nice staff. But I would advise customers to always CHECK THE RECEIPTS before leaving. I have been charged wrongly several times. (Always charging me more than what was marked on the product).Mistakes happen, of course; but when it happens so often in the same shop, one gets a bit concerned. I just am careful when I go there, and when I see this happening, I tell them and they refund me what they charged me extra. Apart from this, it is a nice shop.

Real Foods is always exciting to visit. Every time I find something new to try there. Great variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Itβs great to see that they are making effort to reduce plastic packaging. It can be a bit pricey though.

One of the best shops in Edinburgh with a organic, vegan and vegetarian foods and health/environmentally friendly products. I buy there regularly. It's to go to destination for natural cleaning products, bulk buying or my regular vegan supplies. They also have gluten free products! And everything is very well marked on the shelves eg: vegan GF or GF, yeast free, dairy free. There is a huge selection of nuts, seeds, dry fruits, flours, grains, teas, condiments, soaps, cosmetics, fresh organic local vegetables, organic alcohol and soft drinks. You can find there stuff such protein pastas, GF pastas, soya products, frozen ready foods, sauces, tins, soups in jars/tins. Also they sell premixed muesli and some other dry goods per g/kg. Not everything is organic but you have fair choice of organic products there. There are two shops in Edinburgh. One on Broughton st and one near Tollcross.
