Stayed here for 2 night stay in-between Christmas and New Year. The room was lovely and lovely comfortable bed.The only two issues for us were the noise from room up above obviously with children running around until late at night and early in the morning ..maybe this is where the family rooms are situated? Also service at breakfast especially poor guy on his own not his fault probably caught out with how busy the hotel was during this period.Evening meal choices missing off the menu however the food we had was good. This is no reflection on the staff they were all very friendly helpful and accomodating

Weβve popped in a few times over the years for drinks, and the service has been a bit up and down β but tonight was honestly wonderful! Even with the Christmas lights switch-on and the place being really busy, Luke made sure everyone was seated and served quickly, all with a big smile. He even came to find us personally when a table became free, which made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Luke you truly made our night!

I made the booking with Luke who went out of his way to make sure it was exactly what we wanted! He and the team made us feel very welcome when we arrived. They welcomed the dog and were very dog friendly, even a ready made bed for her in the room! We dined out on the Saturday, meal with excellent and we finished off the day sitting in the comfy lounge which made it even more relaxing. Luke and everyone in the team made sure our stay was most enjoyable!

I booked this after having read so many good reviews but unfortunately it was a disaster! A 4-star hotel where there is no reception, and to talk to someone you have to call the bar - only to be told to try and call again around 11am. (!!) Called in advance to ensure everything was ok as travelling with a dog, only to arrive in the most chaotic hotel and with no garden. Despite the fact that they did confirm there was a garden! Drove over 4 hours and was told to βnot worry, we have one place in front of the hotel where you can leave the car for up to an hourβ - only to arrive and find out that there is no such a thing. Only a public street with public spots and in the most trafficked area where it is impossible to even stop the car for a few minutes as you are right on a bus stop! No one in reception is honest or able to provide real and actual information, despite how many times we called in advance to discuss parking, arrangements and ensure a smooth arrival. Terrible! We left right after βchecking-inβ as we felt we were scammed - all the things we were promised were not actually real. This hotel left us with no place to stay overnight as all other hotels in the area were fully booked (and rightly so, as it was already 4pm on a Saturday!) Never again! Will avoid at all costs.

We had an overnight stay with our dog. The garden was not suitable for early morning or late night walk so had to make way to the recreation ground a short distance away. The evening meal was ordinary but the sticky pudding was one of the best do apple & plum crumble was good. The afternoon tea & cake was disappointing, when on the advert they show sponges choice of 4 cakes in a jar, one of which was a pre wrapped. cake

Staff were brilliant. Stayed in superior room and it was perfect. Plenty of room good facilities. Choice for breakfast amazing. No parking but all car parks free after 6. We stayed in long stay and cost Β£3.50 . Not always someone at reception so pop into the bar if no one about and they will get you sorted.

I canβt say enough wonderful things about my stay. The hotel staff were friendly, really relatable. Just the kind of flexible, helpful staff youβd want everywhere. Room was lovely, had a fantastic kip. To the hotel Iβd offer the suggestion of moving away from single use plastics for the soaps/creams in the bathroom. Thanks for a great stay

We are local so did not stay but are giving a 5 star review for the food. We have just had a terrific Sunday lunch at the Ormond. Our starter (goats cheese) was excellent and this was followed by a truly delicious main (in our case pork loin) which was outstanding. The portions were so generous that a dessert was out of the question. We cannot heap enough praise on the meal, staff and atmosphere. If this review means we will have more difficulty in booking in future then it is no more than the inn deserves. We just wish we had become customers earlier.

Very nice Sunday lunch with family food was lovely apart from roasters which had been kept hot for too long. Service a bit hit & miss but staff very friendly. Would go again.
