We love coming here, there is something for everyone and it's the most beautiful building and experience! We just came as a family to see Antarctica, a magical experience for our 2 year old and the Weston Studio is perfect for family theatre. I also love that there are babes in arms performances of things, I loved coming on maternity leave! We are so lucky to have this theatre

This is a great venue, it's such a beautiful building. Ideal for a variety of events. A lot of the original features remain, or have been replaced like for like. Much of the original brickwork, and flooring remain throughout the building. The modern meets historical vibe works well for this venue. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. Bar staff, reception, front of house, ushers, all make the space feel so welcoming. The lift might have been out of order, but they have a series of contingency plans, and everyone is able to access the venue. A lovely night was had, when 3 of us came to see Rosie Jones. (She was as fabulous as ever) A special shout out to Rowan who was so helpful from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. There were several sets of toilets: Gender neutral Male Female Disabled I used the gender neutral toilets, and as I suspected, was absolutely fine! These toilets are great for single parents and carers of opposing genders, who may need to enter the space. Or, rather bizarrely, someone like me who just needed the loo! More spaces should consider installing gender neutral loos.

Beautiful old theater with no bad seats. Plenty of bathrooms, which is unusual for a theater with everyone trying to go at intermission. Drinks are reasonably priced and you can take them into the theaoto enjoy during the show.

Our first time and we fell in love! What a wonderful place to be, just as a lovely place, but then there is the gorgeous old (1800's) theatre and all its history. The reception area is 'new', added on to the original frontage and it is stunning. We didn't want to leave! Do yourself a favour, visit this wonderful old English theatre and soak it all in! #BristolOldVic #Theatre #Bristol

My friend and I popped into the Bristol Old Vic for a drink..what a beautiful building. I've never seen a show here before, but I'd love to come back to see inside the theatre rooms. Lovely staff, very friendly with quick service.

An amazing place of culture where you can see great shows or simply enjoy a dinner inside one of oldest theatres in England. (quite possibly the oldest!) The building has been beautifully renovated preserving the old wall of the theatre inside. Occasionally running short projections on the wall so people can learn about the place. The atmosphere seems to be great always but if youβre an artist yourself, the press nights for the new incoming shows are the best time to be around as that is when the place is full of interesting people and there is a bit more of a buzz around. Great food overall with an ever changing menu adapting to the seasons coming and going. Good wines and plenty to chose from. Whatβs not to love?!

A fantastic theatre with loads of history, I did find the seats uncomfortable especially for a long sitting! The food however was absolutely amazing so tasty way better than I would have expected, proper restaurant quality.

Such a fantastic production, I could watch it time and time again! When we made enquiries we were delighted to discover that the musical version of A Christmas Carol was still being performed at the Old Vic. The theatre itself is wonderful and lends itself beautifully to a show such as this. Wherever you sit in the theatre, you are always close to the action, something which only goes to improve a show such as this involving a great deal of audience participation. The foyer of the theatre has been completely renewed and apparently they have built a completely new studio theatre, but the original theatre has been left completely intact and still has all it's original charm. An absolute joy to visit, highly recommended!

Incredibly that I wasnβt entered in this building before!! The bar is a really interesting architectural space, worthy to have a drink whenever. The theatre is small but really well maintained. The performance amazing!!

I love the stripped back look, all concrete and brick, very honest and interesting. The building itself is lovely outside and in, I've never tried parking in the area but I suspect that's an issue. The auditorium is as built so very pretty and great sight lines, even in the pit! The stage is raised so you can see from the pit but you do top your head back a little. It felt very cramped after 2 years of distancing from people, that was odd, but they asked people to wear masks which the majority did at the start, soon went to pot when the lights went down! But hey you can't have everything and people will make the choices for themselves rather than others. I saw a great show so whoever is in charge of the season I appluad. In you are looking for a great night out in the Bristol area try here!
