Fantastic gem tucked away in Canton! I struggle with finding shoes that fit and as soon as I walked in I felt very welcome here! Chris endured a long while with me helping me to find the perfect fit of walking boot and I left feeling genuinely happy with my purchase. He’s a fountain of knowledge and I’ll definitely be returning here for my future outdoor needs. Looking forward to wearing this pair to the ground so I can come back for another!

Old school style shop that caters towards the outdoors type of person. First time I parked outside I felt really disappointed, it looked tiny from the front. But it is an Aladdin's cave in there. The shop goes right back. So many different things in there, you can spends ages in there. The shop is a bit rugged and slightly chaotic in it's set-up but done in such a way it does have a charm about it that is quite endearing. Finding the prices of things can be difficult though, as everything is on printed paper. Either as a whole sheet or cut up labels. Not always near the item it's referring to. So it feels like a game of Cluedo trying to match the item to a price list. This could definitely be improved. Shop assistants always about and ready to help which is a massive bonus. Super duper helpful with climbing stuff and I would absolutely recommend. It is pricey there but you are paying for the service they render and that does feel valuable.

I randomly walked past the store and happened to glance inside. Saw it was an outdoor shop so went in for a nose. Best decision ever! I've been researching a drysuit and PFD for a couple of months from my sofa, online. I went upstairs in the store and spent half an hour with El - he's a lovely gent with untold knowledge on kayaking. He is also incredibly patient and as a result I just blew nearly a grand on a top of the range drysuit and PFD. I can't get the grin off my face. Cannot recommend this place (and the staff, El in particular) highly enough!

For a year we have been planning a little trip to Up and Under from our home in Somerset and today we finally made it. We wanted to get kitted up for any weather …… what a great shop with super helpful and friendly staff too - well worth the trip to Cardiff …… and pup-friendly too - Jess enjoyed finding the hidden toys around the shop while we chose our new gear! THANKS

Absolutely superb outdoor and sports store. I have shopped here for some time now, using mail order and have found them faultless every time. The prices are very competitive, the shipping is safe and fast. What’s especially good is the customer service. You’re treated like their best customer whatever you are shopping for. They go out of their way to help you choose an item or have questions about a product either on the phone or by email. Also, their after care help and advice is brilliant. The manager, Chris, is excellent and the epitome of what that role should be. 5 star.

In short, I would highly recommend going here, and will definetly come back when I need to buy my next pair of climbing shoes. Longer version: I have been bouldering for a little while before coming here, and decided I wanted to buy my first pair of climbing shoes. I had tried out two climbing shoes prior at some events at my gym, but was still a bit confused about what I should look for in a shoe. To which a member of staff helped me through the process of selecting a shoe, by sitting down for an hour with me. During which they gave lots of useful advice, and let me try out a much wider range of brands and sizes (in the end I must have tried out over ten shoes). It was a really great experience, and I would definetly recommend anyone who is looking to buy a climbing shoe to come here. Also, they have do have a climbing wall to let you give each shoe a good test.

Absolutely amazing customer service! We spent about 3 hours there and the guys are so accommodating! Talking us through everything, making sure we picked the right items for what we’re doing. Gavin was great, talking me through all the clothing, what would be best for our plans, and popping back to us every now and again to check on how we were doing, even did us a coffee thank you so much! The guy fitting the mountaineering boots was so helpful too, getting me to try a few on and making sure they fit correctly. We didn’t feel rushed, pushed to buy, or pestered whatsoever and actually had a really good day there! Thank you so much! We will 100% be back!

Visited the store today with my partner and friend as we all wanted to purchase our first pair of climbing shoes after recently taking up the sport. We were warmly greeted by staff and were impressed by the range of shoes on offer. One of the staff members (a lady from Florida - sorry I forget her name!) spent a significant period of time with us, showing us the different styles and brands on offer. She pulled out a number of options available and gave us lots of advice and fitting help without ever pushing us towards one shoe or the other. She was very knowledgeable and patient and we would have been clueless without her! We were also able to try shoes out on a small practice wall. All 3 of us left with shoes, and confident we had made good choices for our needs. Thanks very much U&U, we'll be back for more kit soon!

We were met by Elan today in the canoe section and he showed the utmost care and patience in selecting a variety of open canoe equipment for us relative newbies. No pressure selling at all and a font of canoeing experience to assist us in our purchases. Top marks to a physical shop.

Excellent customer service! Moving up from my beginner climbing shoes to a more intermediate pair I didn't know what to look for. I was warmly greeted by a member of the team who took me through a comprehensive and professional fitting, it was also a great plus point I got to do a little test on a practice wall. Additionally I needed a beginner pair for my teenage son and was given great advice and we both found shoes suited for our needs. P.s there is parking outside on the street but not a huge amount, I was lucky and there was a space. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for climbing shoes.
