   Stayed a couple nights mid september 2025 at the Belfast Malmaison. Dined one evening at Chez Mal. Starters of sourdough bread and carrot/onion soup, excellent! We enjoyed mains of Lamb Shank and the Paprika Cod(subbed smashed potatoes for cauliflower). Both mains were top quality. Washed down with a Brewdog Punk IPA. Delightful dining experience.

   The Malmaison Belfast was such a comfortable place to land! The staff was exceptional, especially Dagmara, Erin & Shelby. Shelby was just as friendly and helpful in the morning as she had been the night before. She works hard and with a contagious joyful spirit! The food was so good that we ate in the restaurant twice, the first time out of necessity. However, we chose the restaurant for our last dinner in Belfast because it was so very delicious!

   Stayed at Malmaison and this restaurant is inside the hotel. We visited Belfast for a week and this restaurant by far had the BEST dinner food we had our entire stay. Everything is excellent, burgers are incredible, the appetizers are scrumptious, crab tacos are exquisite ...service outstanding...all 5 star quality... The chef is a culinary genius... The mixes of flavors are delicious... Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere after a fast paced day. Get there early, as they close at 9pm and sometimes will run out of ingredients for specialty entrees! Best restaurant for dinner in Belfast! Would stay at the hotel again just for the food!

   We had dinner here while visiting from America. Service in the dining room was good, make sure you visit the bar because the fella behind the bar was an absolute delight- one of the highlights of our time was in Belfast was the wonderful conversations we had with the locals. The food was good, they had a nice selection on the menu and all the entrees we ordered were good.

   It was an excellent dining experience. Each of us ordered three courses. The scallops are the best. Unfortunately, the calamari was not available. The service was perfect. The staff was very friendly and kind.

   Absolutely shocking to say the least I came from Dublin to a dog friendly hotel to be told we could not sit in the bar with a miniature dog but had to sit in the lobby it was 9pm 3 people in the bar why would anybody refuse to allow a small pet in an pet friendly hotel without making a clear statement before booking I explained my situation and was simply refused by bar manager even though foh tried to help ..never again

   The hotel is lovely. That’s why we were surprised the Chez Mal experience was so atrocious—we ordered two steaks, two cocktails, and an appetizer. The appetizer never came (with no explanation), the steaks were terribly over cooked (my partner ordered his rare, but it came as medium), and the service was nearly non-existent. We also did not order sauce with our steaks, but yet we’re charged for sauces with each. Would absolutely not be returning to the restaurant as there are so many great restaurants in Belfast with great service. We’d gladly stay at the hotel again any time though.
