We had an amazing meal as a party of 9 for New Year's Day! All our food was perfection and the little extra touches for the children like the activity bags and breadsticks were great! Thank you - would highly recommend for a family gathering!

Popped in a couple of weeks ago on the off chance there would be a table free for lunch. It was a Sunday so we weren't too hopeful. They managed to squeeze us in and we had a lovely roast. The pub itself is decorated well and feels cosy and welcoming. There is a large outside seating area with some individual covered areas as well (feels a bit like being in a shed with one side open!). They thoughtfully provide blankets if you want to sit outside when it's a bit chilly. Next to the carpark is an outside washing area for you to clean off muddy walking boots and your muddy dog before you go in the pub. This pub is a really nice place to stop off for a meal or just a drink after a nice long walk across the moors or round Burrator reservoir.

An absolutely beautiful experience. My wife and i stopped in for a bite to eat after a 5 mile walk. The atmosphere and decoration of the venue was superb, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We both ordered the steak sandwiches and chips, which were part of a lunch deal. The food was simply gorgeous and the prices great. We cannot wait to return over the Xmas period.

We visited on a Thursday lunchtime. The monday-friday lunch menu was good value. I had the fish and chips which was a nice size portion for lunch, my friend had the steak (open) sandwich which looked great. The pub looks to have been recently renovated. The staff were all friendly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fantastic Gem by the Moor! The Burrator Pub is an absolute delight — cozy, welcoming, and full of character. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between a traditional country pub and a friendly local hangout. The staff are always cheerful and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. The food is top-notch — hearty portions, beautifully cooked, and full of flavor. The Sunday roast is one of the best in the area, and the desserts are worth saving room for! They also have a great selection of local ales and ciders, perfect for relaxing after a walk around Burrator Reservoir. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Dartmoor, this place is a must-visit. Great food, great people, and a lovely atmosphere — what more could you want from a pub?

It amazes me how a respected and enjoyed pub / restaurant loved my locals and those a far can go down down hill so much. By making the interior smarter and raising prices, definitely doesn't improve the food quality and the enjoyment of visiting this establishment. Visited the Burrator Inn for my mother's birthday and left very disappointed. If a pub / restaurant like this has to serve bought in frozen fish pies that they can't prepare correctly then maybe ditch the chef! 6 meals order 3 came out 45 minutes after ordering all of poor quality (would honestly get better in wetherspoons). The other 3 which were all fish pies came out as fish and chips even after the waiter read our order to us before sending it to the kitchen they still couldn't get it right. When we got the fish pies 20 minutes later I was utterly disappointed and shocked at the quality (looked like cat sick with burnt mash upside down). After talking to who I believe was the manager he admitted that they buy the fish pies in frozen metal trays and pour it in to another dish. To what I believe is they microwave the pie and stick it under the grill. Don't ask about the large sign that says special board ask your waiter because they don't do specials apparently. The Burrator Inn used to be such a great place to visit but please if you are reading this then don't visit as you will be disappointed especially when there are so many other decent restaurants and pubs to visit. Bring back the old Burrator Inn!!!

A busy pub restaurant on Dartmoor. Booking recommended during weekends. Friendly welcome from staff. Food was good, hearty English fare. Kids and dog friendly. Perfect place to visit after a walk in the Dartmoor National Park.

The food is excellent and the whole place has a lovely warm atmosphere - even on a rainy November afternoon. Really dog friendly and welcoming. The service was exceptional- we left my elderly in-laws in the pub whilst we walked the dogs and they were really well looked after. On our return we ate lunch and had a really good meal . The gentleman that looked after us was attentive and is a credit to the place. We are here on holiday but will certainly return next time we are in the area. Thank you for such a great experience.

Neat pub very easy to reach from Plymouth. We came in a Sunday and the roast was fantastic and the desserts were great too. All the staff were really friendly and the toilets very clean. They even have free nappies in the disabled toilet/baby changing room.

Not eaten here as they hadn't had availability the 3 times we popped, so book in advance. Good for drinks, don't have a wide range of ciders. Lovely to sit outside, especially under the new outside covered areas with heaters - dog friendly!
