I came here for lunch (roast) recently (2nd Nov) with my sister and niece for my sisters birthday and we had the most delicious roast and glass of wine! Service was friendly, pub is so cosy and gorgeous. Food was excellent and we complimented the wine and the manager gifted us a bottle! Highly recommend :)

Beautiful 16th century pub. Very quirky interior full of historic charm. Quite compact bar with more direct to eat. We didn't eat here but the menu looked amazing if a little expensive for us. But you get what you pay for. Greeted warmly and plenty of drinks options available. Good range of beers and ciders available as well as spirits. Set in a quant location with brook running past the pub. Access is quite narrow but that's how the roads are in this area. Drive slowly you'll b be fine. Plenty of parking around back of pub. Seems like a close village. Saw a variety of clients from family to farmers.

I came with my family for my birthday roast yesterday and we had the most wonderful experience there. The pub was warm and cosy. The fires were burning and the welcome we had was lovely. I had the lamb roast and it was absolutely delicious. The red wine we picked was also delicious. They really looked after us there. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for making it great day for us :)

What can I say about this place? The location is amazing. A real gem. The food is beyond belief, a gastronomic delight, and at fantastic prices. Try the brown sugar tart, with plumbs and quince. The chef is a down to Manchester ex pat, with superlative skills in cuisine. There's a wonderful selection of beers, wines and spirits, and the staff are brilliant. Oak beams, log fires, wonderful atmosphere. If you can find it. Do. You'll not be disappointed.

This is an absolute gem of a pub! Rang super last minute after a day hiking Dartmoor and we were starving. Maria managed to squeeze us all in (me, my partner and our three collies!) for tea within half an hour. Absolutely excellent service and friendly staff! We went on pie and pint night and it was busy but service was excellent and waiting staff were attentive. Food was incredible and portions were generous! Really recommend a visit if you’re in the area and it also has rooms so you could stay. If ever we return we would 100% go back. Thank you so much :)

Sunday lunch was lovely. Polite and quick service. We had beef brisket and belly pork, both delicious. Lots of veg and tasty roast potatoes. Puddings were good too. Not too heavy so you can eat one after the roast. I'll be back soon.

We just popped in for a quick pint, but it's very clear that this place is a really nice pub. We were welcomed straight away by the landlord and the atmosphere is amazing. So much history is adorned on the walls. We will definitely be back soon to try the food.

Good meal in country pub on our last night in Cornwall. The place is large and a little off the veaten track but gets a full crowd on many evenings.

Great food, quick service. Atmosphere is incredible, well loved pub. Called ahead and was given a table by the fire! Couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommend.

Fantastic pub, one of Stannary Hash House Harrier's favourites! Great selection of Dartmoor Ales, great cozy atmosphere and beautifully decorated traditional bar and function room, great for a group like ours who enjoy a couple of beers and cheesy chips!
