   Because my local Pets & Friends (still don't think I'll be able to switch from calling it Kennelgate - and I always thought that was a daft name) has been closed down In looking at the other options. The branch I used to be Assistant Manager at (Bulwell) is long gone, so Hucknall was today's adventure. I'm not keen on changing where I shop when I find a good place, so this may well be my new go to choice. I was greeted when entering with a cheery hello. The store is well laid out, and for the most part the aisle spacing is good (a little tight at the back in front of a couple of the freezer units). The freezers and shelves were neatly stocked (a subtle but important detail), and the shelves and floors were clean. I was greeted again when approaching the tills. The chap behind the counter (I didn't look at his name tag) got to the end of scanning the items, and as I was sorting out paying, he had taken the bags I brought with me and loaded everything (again, neatly) into it. A nice touch that was certainly above and beyond. A great experience all round. Long may it continue.

   We take Max our Bichon Frise here to be groomed, they do a great job and he always comes out looking all fresh and smart. The staff are brilliant with him and always take good care of him and make Max feel relaxed even though he suffers from anxiety when he first gets there.

   Clean and well presented... but surprisingly small and expensive. Products are considerably more expensive like for like than even my local Sainsburys! Dissapointing...

   Took my male westie for a "westie" cut. Was absolutely terrible, he didn't even look like a westie after they had finished. Very unhappy with the service and will never be going back.
